Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump virtually tied headed into debate

A Clinton aide later told CNN that the Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign had indeed invited Cuban, which prompted Trump to tweet Saturday that he had invited Flowers to the debate Monday night at Hofstra University, in Long Island, N.Y.

Flowers subsequently accepted the invite in her own tweet.

Trump campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks did not respond to a request Sunday for confirmation about Flowers. “If dopey Mark Cuban of failed Benefactor fame wants to sit in the front row, perhaps I will put Gennifer Flowers right alongside of him”, he tweeted. Trump faces Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton in the first of three debates Monday.

Just a day after Donald Trump threatened to rattle Hillary by bringing one of Bill’s mistresses, the Trump campaign wasn’t exactly clear if the invite was legitimate.

Trump’s views on China are unclear and unstable, but Clinton is a “predictable evil” to China, Lampton said, adding that predictability is highly important for diplomacy and major power relations.

The Democratic candidate’s advantage over her Republican rival is within the margin of error of 4.5 percentage points in the poll, which was conducted September 19-22 among 1,001 adults surveyed by telephone.

Trump had all but ignored issues like child care and maternity leave until the Republican National Convention when his daughter, Ivanka, suddenly said her father would work to provide affordable childcare for women.

From criticizing human rights since 1990s, when she came to China as first lady, to executing the “Pivot to Asia” policy against China’s interest since the 2010s when she was secretary of state, “Clinton’s negative image in China is consistent”, Wang Yiwei, a senior fellow of worldwide relations at the Renmin University of China, told the Global Times previously. As secretary of state, she stressed the importance of women’s rights in of US foreign policy.

NBC took flak after Matt Lauer, co-anchor of “Today”, questioned Trump and Clinton at a “Commander-In-Chief Forum” on September 7.

It said Clinton’s decision to use a private email server for government work as secretary of state deserved the scrutiny it has received in the campaign, but considered alongside the real challenges facing the United States it “looks like a matter for the help desk”.
