Hillary Clinton formally declared Democratic party nominee
During Hillary Clintons first presidential campaign in 2008, her husband angered some Democrats with dismissive comments about Obama. Sanders led a staunch Democratic primary challenge to Clinton, and some of his supporters still refuse to line up behind her amid concerns about her policies and the party’s neutrality.

Then a candidate for Senate from Illinois, Barack Obama delivered the keynote address to delegates on the floor of the FleetCenter on the second day of the Democratic National Convention July 27, 2004, in Boston, Massachusetts.
“Hillary is uniquely qualified to seize the opportunity and reduce the risk we face”, he told the party that still adores him personally even if it has mixed feelings about his legacy.
After his delegates had been counted, Sanders took the floor and, in a bid to unify the party, called for a vote by acclamation. Vermont was the last state of the roll call. “This is a historic night”, Rebecca Reed, a delegate from Missouri, told Xinhua.
Exactly 12 years ago, a 17-minute speech at the 2004 Democratic convention catapulted a then-state senator Barack Obama to the national stage and sparked talk of a presidential run. We are taken advantage of by the system. “So the reality now is, once she’s elected, we have to hold her feet to the fire-hold her accountable for her actions to the lowest of people”. “Unfortunately, I don’t think many Americans are surprised by that and because of our complacency, we will probably wind up with either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton”, said New Jersey delegate Michelle McFadden-diNicola.
The confirmation was greeted with cheers from ecstatic Clinton supporters, who drowned out jeers from Sanders’ supporters.
“I don’t know what I would do in November. but I do know that we need to keep rather than party unity in focus, we need to keep our country’s unity in focus”.
Clinton became the party’s standard bearer following days of tension between pro-Clinton forces and delegates who supported Sen.
The ongoing Democratic convention has been rocky with apparent division following the fallout of leaked internal emails from staff of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), forcing committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to resign while sparking protests by thousands of Sanders supporters in Philadelphia since Sunday, one day before the start of the four-day event.
“If there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say I may become the first woman president, but one of you is next”, she told the convention in Philadelphia in a video message. “That is just who she is”. “It is about transforming the country”. While aides have said he will not get a Cabinet post or a seat in the Situation Room should his wife win, Clinton has made clear that her closest adviser will remain involved with her administration, saying he’d likely have a role in managing the nation’s economy.
Also on Tuesday, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said the website plans to release “a lot more material” concerning the USA elections. “There is the United States of America!”

But that’s because Hillary Clinton has been involved in a public service for a very long time.
