Hillary Clinton Has a Fever and the Only Prescription Is More Obama

US Senator Bernie Sanders, a self-proclaimed socialist, lambasted rival former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her relationship with Henry Kissinger, who served under the Republican Nixon administration, calling him “one of the most destructive secretaries of state of the modern history of this country, as two candidates for Democratic Party’s nomination for president clashed on foreign and domestic issues on Thursday night”.

When Clinton lost SC to Barack Obama in the 2008 primary, Clyburn received a 2 a.m. phone call from Bill Clinton that Clyburn detailed in his memoir Blessed Experiences. He said bluntly that some of her attacks were wrongheaded, and he was dismissive after Clinton talked about her plans to increase federal spending by about $100 billion a year. Priorities USA Action had previously said it would only deploy its millions in funds for the general election against Republicans, the press release pointed out.

Ellison said he sought out Sanders when he came to Washington because he sat on the Financial Services Committee and “made friends with him”.

Over the past month, Hillary Clinton has gone after Bernie Sanders on a host of issues as he’s encroached on her in the polls: Guns, health care and his campaign’s defining issue – Wall Street reform.

“I want to follow up on something having to do with leadership because, you know, today Senator Sanders said that President Obama failed the presidential leadership test. And this is not the first time that he has criticized President Obama”, Clinton said. He accused Sanders of “dismissive and disrespectful behavior toward the president”.

“I don’t think our country can live up to its potential unless we give a chance to every single American to live up to theirs”, Clinton said. He explains that Sanders’ promise about the criminal justice system fails to account for problematic “details”, such as the number of Americans in state or local jails.

“Let’s not insult the intelligence of the American people”. But he also stressed that Sanders respects Obama and was not suggesting that race relations have gotten worse since 2009.

While the Democratic race has become more heated in recent weeks, Clinton and Sanders have cast their disagreements as matters of substance and degree while condemning Republicans for focusing more on personal attacks.

Sanders supports a $15 an hour minimum wage, while Clinton supports $12.

I don’t think Sanders heard Woodruff’s question the way she meant it-as a contrast with Obama.

Sanders stayed on message and later called on the American people to make his proposals possible through a political revolution. “In my view, the government of a democratic society has a moral responsibility to play a vital role in making sure all our people have a decent standard of living”, Sanders said.

SEN. BERNIE SANDERS: Madam Secretary, that is a low blow. She said campuses need support services for victims and there needs to be fairness in both campus disciplinary and criminal justice proceedings.
