Hillary Clinton hits Christie on Bridgegate after his fiery RNC 2016 speech
He was, perhaps, the something different they were looking for.

Clinton’s campaign quickly reacted to Christie’s speech. But back then, there was reason for people to want that redemption.
And it’s not just Trump.
The second night of the Republican Convention gave us a television spectacle that was a schizophrenic affair, veering wildly back and forth between sweet sentimentality and vicious fear-mongering, and I’m not just talking about The O’Reilly Factor. But Trump’s campaign and GOP officials eager for a show of unity behind Trump worked to head that off.
Donning the mantle of the prosecutor he once was, Christie proceeded to make his remarks a trial of Hillary Clinton, whom he noted, would not be prosecuted by the Justice Department. In June, The New Yorker reported that the governor was tasked with fetching the nominee his McDonald’s orders.
He cited the examples of Libya, where her “disastrous overthrow” of Muammar Gaddafi allowed Islamic State to thrive, and Nigeria, where he claimed she fought for two years to keep an al-Qaida affiliate off the terrorist watchlist, leading to the kidnapping of hundreds of schoolgirls.
As it turns out, Hillary Clinton had a bit of fun herself after the New Jersey governor found her “guilty” of a series of… well, mostly political disagreements during his speech.
Christie wasn’t the only member of his family who played a part in the convention Tuesday.
Two of Trump’s children, Tiffany and Donald Jr., will also seek to put a more human face on their father as he tries to broaden his appeal, after adopting a confrontational persona in the Republican primary battle.
“Is she guilty or not guilty?”
And I’ve heard that happen again and again at the Republican convention so far, as the clear favorite chant of the attendees is: “Lock her up!”.
Our Aaron Blake outlined how “lock her up” has become the informal rallying cry of the convention.
The last time that Trump matched Clinton’s level of support was in mid-May, after his remaining rivals for the Republican nomination dropped out and many Republican leaders started to openly support his bid for the White House.
You are now subscribed to the Daily Digest and Cheat Sheet. He said Clinton would bring the country “all the failures of the Obama years, but with less charm and more lies”.
“In writing her attractive speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking”, Jason Miller, Trump’s senior communications advisor, said in a statement.
So we have a group of people among whom a large percentage see Democrats as a threat to the nation, see Democrats as immoral and dishonest and fear what the opposition party is up to.

From diplomatic deals in Iran, China and Cuba to an email scandal that has been the forefront since she announced her campaign, Christie, who many suspect might be auditioning for Attorney General in a Trump administration, declared: “We can not promote someone as commander in chief who has made the world a more risky and violent place”.
