Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, who struggles with perceptions of dishonesty in polls, said Thursday that she doesn’t believe she has ever told a lie and vowed to do her best to be honest going forward. “I couldn’t understand it”, Clinton goes on to say of the coverage of Quinn.
Pelley pushed back, “Some people are gonna call that wiggle room that you just gave yourself”. “I’ve noticed a big improvement between now and the last time I ran”, she said. Clinton didn’t quite go there when asked during an interview with CBS News if she could give a similar promise. I don’t believe I ever have. “So people are really asking, ‘is she in it for herself or is she in it for me?’ I’ve always been somebody who believed and raised in my family and my faith that I, with my blessings, had an opportunity and an obligation to do what I could to help others”.
The CBS interview comes as Sanders looks to cut into Clinton’s lead as Democratic voters head to the polls in Nevada on Saturday and SC next weekend.
‘I think Secretary Clinton has a very strong case to make about the kinds of ethics and values and honesty that she has brought to her long career in public services, ‘ White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said.
“The fact Hillary Clinton felt the need to waffle on a question about whether she is a liar is precisely why two-thirds of the American people think she’s dishonest and untrustworthy”, RNC spokesman Michael Short said in a statement. Mrs Clinton wins on electability and leadership, but Mr Sanders is seen as more truthful and better at relating to the needs of voters.
“Here’s the problem with Senator Sanders’s plan: His numbers don’t add up”, she said.

She said she has tried not to “overpromise” on the campaign trail. Bernie Sanders – 47 to 39 percent. However, Clinton said she knows how hard it is to be a president, and feels “very ready and very confident to take it on”.
