Hillary Clinton Introduces Tim Kaine as Running Mate

“En este país somos Americanos todos”, he said to cheers from the audience.

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton took the stage with running mate Sen.

Meanwhile, his campaign announced that Trump and his running mate Mike Pence would hit the election trail tomorrow with Town Halls in Virginia and Pennsylvania, and campaign rally in North Carolina. President Obama almost picked him in 2008, but this time he got the job.

Kaine told the crowd: “Let me tell you something that Harry Truman said that could have been written five minutes ago”. “That’s been my goal in every position I’ve ever held”.

One of the well-wishers outside the Kaine’s house was Larry Williford, a member of the church who has known Kaine for decades.

The bilingual Kaine may prove to be a valuable asset in Spanish-language media as the campaign appeals to Hispanic-Americans turned off by Republican Donald Trump’s harsh rhetoric about immigrants.

“We are stronger together and we will make the future better”, Clinton said. “Do you want a trash-talking president or a bridge-building president?”

The big question is whether Kaine’s pick will also unnerve progressive Democrats who had been hoping for a more liberal candidate out of respect for Clinton’s fierce primary battle with Sen.

Clinton unveiled her choice of Kaine late on Friday, grabbing the political spotlight from Trump, who accepted the Republican presidential nomination on Thursday night after a chaotic four-day convention.

Clinton on Friday announced her choice of Kaine over U.S. Sen.

When Clinton formally introduced Kaine to the rally he said, “I’m feeling a lot of things today, most of all gratitude”.

Clinton spoke early and often of Kaine’s qualifications and compared them to those of Donald Trump and Mike Pence. As for Tim Kaine, his three years in the Senate have earned him a zero rating, meaning he never once voted as conservatives would wish.

She heralded her pick as a man of faith, willing to work across the aisle and committed to furthering the progressive cause. “Tim’s experience at the local, state, and national level makes him uniquely qualified to help build an economy that works for everyone – not just those at the top – and keep American families safe”. They say his campaign was hurt by Hillary Clinton’s overwhelming support from superdelegates. “Over and over again he has had the courage to stand up to the gun lobby in their own backyard”.

Kaine also talked about gun violence and serving as governor during the 2007 mass shooting at Virginia Tech.

“That was the worst day… of my life”.

“While Senator Kaine has been open about his personal reservations about abortion, he’s maintained a 100 per cent pro-choice voting record in the US Senate”, Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, said. Bernie fought for nothing!

At Trump’s announcement, on the other hand, he delivered a somewhat rambling, ad-libbed speech, much of which focused on himself.

Kaine slammed recent comments by Trump to the effect that if Russian Federation were to attack a Baltic nation, he as president would come to their aid only after assessing whether they “have fulfilled their obligations to us”.

Michael Moore hates, and I mean HATES, Tim Kaine.

The key to getting minority voters on board, he said, is playing to Kaine’s strengths as a former civil rights leader, mayor of a black city and his ability to speak Spanish.

But for all the reasons celebrity actor-vists like Mark Ruffalo hate Tim Kaine, moderate Republicans love him.

Clinton and Kaine will be officially nominated this week at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

But even as Clinton and her campaign methodically vetted a number of potential running mates, it was clear that Kaine was on the fast track.

Kaine, 58, had always been a favorite for Clinton’s ticket.

“He’s not afraid to take on special interests”, she said. They had slipped out of Clinton’s Brooklyn office using a freight elevator. “I’m grateful to you, Hillary, for the trust you’ve placed in me”.
