The issue erupted into a scandal as she was preparing to kick off her 2016 presidential campaign, and remained a Republican talking point for months as they sought to knock down the Democratic frontrunner.

According to Fox News, the State Department reported finding an additional 328 emails containing classified information in them, which brings the total to almost 1000.

Multiple congressional investigations have found that the CIA’s assessment in the days after the attacks was that they were the result of protests over the video. Emails released by the State Department on Monday show a virtually unanimous chorus of support for Clinton following that hearing, with many aides passing along glowing reviews of her performance. Barbara Mikulski, who is retiring this year, noting Mikulski is the reason Clinton was allowed to wear trousers on the Senate floor.
Deputy communications director Kristina Schake says in a statement, “As First Lady, Senator and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton made significant strides to empower women and girls in this country and throughout the world”. For his part, Sanders has said there’s still time to beat her.
Knowingly transmitting classified information through an unsecured email account could be a violation of federal law. The FBI is now investigating the security of Clinton’s email system and has reportedly expanded its probe to explore possible violations of US criminal code.
“That was the best she or anyone could do”, Clinton added. And her ties with so many familiar faces from those intersecting worlds were complicated by their lucrative financial largess and political support over the years – even during her State Department tenure – to her campaigns, her husband’s and to her family’s foundation. She went on to praise the “strong soldiers and fighters in pursuit of that behind me”.

Clinton first mentioned the 9/11 attacks on NY to defend herself against Wall Street ties during the second Democratic debate. “Anybody that thinks they can influence me on that ground doesn’t know me very well”.
