Hillary Clinton Is “Recovering Well” From Pneumonia, Her Doctor Says

The detour forced Clinton to cancel a two-day swing through California and send her husband, former President Bill Clinton, to a Las Vegas campaign rally in her stead.

Health issues have dominated the race for November’s election since a dizzy spell forced Mrs Clinton, 68, to leave a 9/11 ceremony in NY on Sunday.

If Trump, 70, wins the November 8 election, he would be the oldest person to be elected USA president.

The Democratic presidential candidate appeared energetic and in high spirits after the bout of pneumonia that sidelined her.

Clinton’s pneumonia diagnosis came at inopportune time for the former secretary of state, who spent the bulk of August fundraising in wealthy USA enclaves such as the Hamptons and Martha’s Vineyard, with only intermittent campaign events.

Hours earlier, Trump, the Republican nominee, released the results of a recent physical examination and spoke about his health regimen during a Wednesday morning taping of “The Dr. Oz Show” in Manhattan.

The other presidential candidate released a physician’s detailed assessment of medical conditions and treatments that is open for review by any health professional in the world.

Trump’s campaign has said he will release additional medical information to the public in the coming days.

Dr. Brian P Monahan, attending physician of the U.S. Congress, said Kaine had “overall excellent health’, but recommended the candidate increase his Vitamin D intake”. “She continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as president of the United States”, she continued. But voters will have to wait another day for details: the show does not air until Thursday. “Mrs. Clinton has since been evaluated by me several times and continues to improve”. Concerns over Clinton’s health were raised after video showed she seemingly “collapsed” as she was leaving a 9/11 memorial event early due to “overheating”. The pneumonia was described as a “mild non-contagious bacterial pneumonia”, for which Clinton was advised to rest and take antibiotics.

The letter also notes that in January, during the run-up to the Iowa caucuses, Clinton developed a sinus and ear infection that was initially treated with antibiotics and steroids.

Trump leads Clinton by 5 percentage points in a Bloomberg Politics poll of OH, a gap that underscores the Democrat’s challenges in critical Rust Belt states after one of the roughest stretches of her campaign. Her cholesterol was normal at 189, LDL at 103, HDL at 56, though her triglycerides were somewhat elevated at 159.

In the Quinnipiac University poll, Clinton is at 41%, Trump at 39%, Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson at 13% and Green Party nominee Jill Stein was at 4% with likely voters.

“The remainder of her complete physical exam was normal and she is in excellent mental condition”, the letter said.

Her medications include medicine for an underactive thyroid, a blood thinner, an antihistamine (Clarinex) for seasonal allergies, and B-12 for mild anemia.
