The source said that the Democratic nominee seemed to faint as she entered her van and was helped by her security convoy. He said she was standing on a curb with her protective detail waiting for her motorcade.
A separate law enforcement source told Fox News that Clinton left the event because she wasn’t feeling well. Trump appeared at the ceremony around 8:20 a.m. receiving applause when he arrived, while Clinton arrived shortly before the first bell rang at 8:46 a.m. which is a citywide moment of silence in observance of time the first plane struck the North Tower. Her U.S. Secret Service protective detail actually had to help carry her into her auto, according to a Fox News report from Rick Leventhal.
She also appeared to lose a shoe as she walked into the vehicle. It was certainly warm at the scene.
Campaign staff refused to tell reporters traveling with the Democratic presidential candidate what had prompted the early departure, after Fox News reported that Clinton had experienced a “medical episode”.
The report was independently verified, and United States media reported that Clinton’s aides had not initially responded to questions from the press on the matter.
