Hillary Clinton left 9/11 memorial ceremony after feeling ‘overheated’

Controversy over the remark came at a bad time for Clinton, who was forced to cancel a West Coast swing due to a bout of pneumonia that she kept secret until she almost collapsed after a ceremony in NY on Sunday marking the September 11, 2001, attacks.

As Clinton recuperated Tuesday, she spent part of the day watching President Barack Obama campaigning for her in Philadelphia. She cut short her appearance Sunday at the September 11 commemorative ceremony in NY, complaining of feeling overheatedand was helped to her van where she appeared to collapse.

Clinton was resting at her home in Chappaqua, New York on Tuesday.

Clinton has not campaigned since Sunday, after she left a September 11 memorial service after her campaign said she became overheated and dehydrated. Clinton had planned to campaign Wednesday in Las Vegas. Former President Bill Clinton will headline that event in her place. Donald Trump has fueled some of those accusations, with the GOP nominee suggesting she “lacks the mental and physical stamina” to be president. She’s also expressed regret for failing to follow her doctor’s orders for several days of rest.

“I think millions of Americans were shocked and saddened to see Hillary Clinton refer to people across this country as a basket of deplorables in a prepared speech before wealthy donors in New York City on Friday night”, Pence said.

“I’m feeling so much better. and obviously I should have gotten some rest sooner”, she told Cooper. She has said she will release additional information about her health in the coming days.
