In his short speech for introducing Clinton, he repeated numerous lines from his Wednesday speech at the Democratic National Convention. He cited another Washington Post-ABC poll that found “56 percent of Americans thought she ought to have been indicted for her problems with her personal email server”.
The first woman to become the presidential nominee of a major political party then detailed the years she had spent in public service and her goals for a presidency.
Trump in his Republican National Convention speech last week painted a dark, divisive picture of America that he said he alone can fix, she said. She never quits. That’s why Hillary should be our next @POTUS.
A supporter cheers as Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton speaks during the final day of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, July 28, 2016.
Both candidates were on the campaign trail on Friday, kicking off what is expected to be a hotly contested general election battle.
“He’s taken the Republican Party a long way, from “Morning in America” to Midnight in America”, Clinton said. Trump asked. “I’ve been nice”.
Monday night’s DNC speeches were seen by 26 million viewers across seven channels, versus 23 million for night one of the RNC. “We will not build a wall-instead, we will build an economy where everyone who wants a good job can get one”, Hillary said. It was, she said, happy news “for grandmothers and little girls and everyone in between”.
“I will be a president for Democrats, Republicans, and independents”, she added. “She spent the evening talking down to the American people she’s looked down on her whole life”.
I’m moved that we actually got here in my lifetime, and I’m glad that it’s her: This woman, of all women, has had to fight to earn her place at the table.
The United States would not tolerate that from any other country, especially one considered an adversary, she said. She leads by an average of 4 percentage points in Pennsylvania, though a recent Quinnipiac poll put Trump slightly ahead.

Weiner, a former White House spokesman for Bill Clinton, says while the former first lady, USA senator and secretary of state may lack the charisma of some past candidates, she makes up for this shortcoming with her problem-solving ability. A GOP promising to protect America better and “Make American Great Again” versus a Democratic Party saying it will continue policies that already make America great. A Trump presidency would be a bad step backwards for working people, people of color, immigrants, students, retirees, the LGBTQ community, the environment, and the entire world, which is why more than ever we need you to reconsider the situation and make a third party run. “Donald Trump can’t even handle the rough and tumble of a presidential campaign”. No matter who you plan to vote for this November, we have all just collectively witnessed something monumentous.
