He’ll be the He in the VIP box watching as She accepts the presidential nomination.

This new survey, Implies a change compared to previous surveys, her speech at the Democratic National Convention probably contributed to that. “Tonight, we’ve reached a milestone in our nation’s march toward a more ideal union: the first time that a major party has nominated a woman for president”.
Clinton promised to make stops in “places that make things”, taking a swipe at her Republican rival, Donald Trump, who she argued “doesn’t make anything in America except bankruptcies”.
“I will be a president for Democrats, Republicans and independents”, she said.
It’s been a tense race for the Democratic nomination, and while there was no official mudslinging, there was plenty of ill will between the Hillary Clinton supporters, who believed she was unequivocally the best fit for the presidency, and Bernie Sanders devotees, who believed true progress could only be achieved with an anti-establishment candidate.
“I’m not telling you everything is peachy keen”, said Clinton, flanked by her husband, former President Bill Clinton, Kaine and his wife. “Your cause is our cause”.
“I’m starting to agree with you, frankly”, he said.
Sanders supporters did not respond with wild cheers. She’s tested. She’s ready.
That’s because the convention was not welcoming for the representatives of the largest grassroots insurgency in the party’s history since Rev. Jesse Jackson’s 1988 bid-and this one is quite a bit bigger.
Clinton sought to portray her own leadership as being built on a vision of an optimistic present and future for the country that would be inclusive for all Americans.
Sanders delegates, many who earned their spot in Philadelphia through hours of grueling, volunteer campaign work, said they would be going back to CT with fresh ideas about how to keep the progressive movement they built alive. Polls show a majority will, but some delegates, his most loyal supporters, say they aren’t there yet. “Because they know Hillary, they’ve seen her work”. “What the DNC is doing is sabotaging this election”, said Danny Fetonte, a retired union organizer and delegate from Austin, Texas. Many of those backing the Donald are the legions of Americans who have found themselves sidelined and silenced by a country which just isn’t working for them. But some will sit out the election, others will vote for Green Party candidate Jill Stein, and many may be disillusioned by politics. Clinton delegates, beyond the party apparatus, could have reached out but mostly did not.
Clinton began her speech thanking her opponent, Bernie Sanders, which led to chants of “Bernie, Bernie, Bernie”. “It didn’t reflect the voters on the ground whatsoever”, said Karen Bernal, a California delegation leader. Twenty years ago, Clinton recalled the book she wrote, It Takes a Village, about all the resources in addition to the nuclear family that it takes to successfully raise children.
She also made the case for the Democratic nominee by speaking emotionally about the historical barrier that Clinton could break.
The Clinton campaign portrays Trump, a former reality TV star, as temperamentally unfit for the White House.
Clinton’s top advisers told the New York Times she would highlight the moment of reckoning that they said the country faces – the path of division laid out by Republicans or a way forward, “stronger together”. “And if you give me the chance, that’s what I’ll do as president”.
Trump’s “cynicism and undoubtedly his lack of empathy and compassion can be summed up in that phrase he is most proud of making famous: ‘You’re fired'”.
She didn’t stop there. “Jobs in manufacturing, clean energy, technology and innovation, small business, and infrastructure”, she added. “Whatever party you belong to, or if you belong to no party at all, if you share these beliefs, this is your campaign”.
Clinton has already adopted some of Sanders’ policy proposals, including a plan to make public college tuition free for families earning up to $125,000 a year.
“He thinks that he knows more than our military because he claimed our armed forces are ‘a disaster, ‘ ” she said. She aggressively challenged Republican Donald Trump’s ability to do the same.

Clinton was introduced by her daughter, Chelsea, who spoke warmly of her mother as a woman “driven by compassion, by faith, by kindness, a fierce sense of justice, and a heart full of love”. “But I’m here to tell you tonight – progress is possible”. “If people stay home and don’t care and don’t get involved, he could become president”. The difficulty for Hillary is that those who have come before her have also tried to tackle the same issue in building an economy that works for everyone.
