Hillary Clinton makes history as Democratic presidential nominee

Taking her place in United States history, Hillary Clinton is set to become the first woman to lead a major party toward the White House, a triumphant moment for Democrats to relish before plunging into a bruising general election against Republican Donald Trump.

Sanders delegates were already booing the mention of Hillary Clinton and her vice-presidential pick Tim Kaine at the California Democratic Party Breakfast-as they would throughout the day and on the convention floor-but they had a special jeer for Secretary of State Alex Padilla.

Two terms later, the first lady known for her wit, style and tact has emerged as a political force, and on Tuesday she electrified the Democratic National Convention with an impassioned endorsement for Hillary Clinton that brought the crowd to its feet. The former president kicked of his speech by discussing how they met, how she turned down his engagement a few times and the birth of their daughter.

Clinton will officially accept the nomination on Thursday.

“I have time to think about it”, said Aaron Bugg, a Sanders delegate from Paducah. Sanders also told his delegates, “I look forward to your votes” during Tuesday’s roll call. “It’s a generational thing for me”. My grandmother told me about how her grandmother could not vote. He was a delegate who helped make Barack Obama the first black nominee for president at the 2008 convention. Mothers whose children have been killed by law enforcement or due to gun violence spoke of their pain.
