Hillary Clinton No Longer Finds Donald Trump Funny — Watch Her Share Some

And because it has crossed that line, I think everybody – and especially other Republicans – need to stand up and say, ‘Enough. These voters heavily favour Trump. Bennie Stickley, a 75-yearold in Gilbertville, Iowa, who retired from a John Deere factory, said he was supporting Clinton but agrees with Trump’s proposal to bar Muslims. Clinton, who maintains a substantive lead in the polls over her party rivals Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley, joked with Meyers about the role that her ex-husband President Bill Clinton may have if she is elected to the White House.

She said Bill Clinton is “a great host” and “loves giving tours”, but “picking out flower arrangements, maybe not”. “We do need to reach out to responsible gun owners and say we can do more to prevent as many deaths as possible”.

Meyers said: “There’s obviously so many guns in this country”.

Clinton then admitted that passing gun control legislation would be hard given the power and the intimidation tactics of the NRA, but argued that there was a way to do things while respecting the rights of Americans to own firearms without, “opening the door so wide”, that people like felons, fugitives, stalkers, individuals with serious mental illnesses and potential terrorists are able to get guns.

To put it another way, Clinton has not even secured expanded background checks at the national level and she is already using them to pursue other laws that could eliminate gun manufacturers altogether.

The appearance, her fourth on the late-night talk show circuit after stints on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Late Show With Stephen Colbert and the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, also had lighter moments.

Meyers asked if it would be hard to keep Bill Clinton “out” if she were president. “Very hard for him”, she recounted to Meyers.

“We all bear some responsibility for that”, she said.

“Eventually they said ‘No, we would really like President Clinton to come.’ And that was a little awkward”.
