Kaine said “there’s still an terrible lot of fix work” to be done on the economy, particularly with regard to job creation, but he insisted, “We don’t have a single issue in this country that we can’t tackle”.

“He’s taken the Republican Party a long way, from “Morning in America” to ‘Midnight in America, ‘” Clinton said. “He wants to divide us – from the rest of the world, and from each other”.

As Chelsea Clinton introduced her mother, the Clinton campaign tweeted a photo of the beaming candidate watching backstage.

“When any barrier falls in America, for anyone, it clears the way for everyone”.

“They haven’t considered the perspective of minorities”, said Kenneth Williams, a black Clinton delegate from Texas.

He campaigned in another swing state, Colorado, on Friday and was scheduled to visit OH next week.

While her speech was not as electrifying as those given by President Barack Obama and some other prominent Democrats at the Philadelphia convention, Clinton was authoritative and self-assured in her pitch to the American public.

Michelle Bryant, a radio talk host in Milwaukee who is attending the convention, said she’s heard similar concerns from some people who call in to her show. “I have a daughter and two granddaughters: for them to know that being president is not something only men do”. So let me tell you.

Throughout a speech punctuated by roars of applause and watched by a misty-eyed former President Bill Clinton, she repeatedly returned to attack Trump – who laid out a much darker vision of America’s future at his own convention last week.

Indeed, Bernie Sanders unequivocally endorsed Clinton for president on the opening night of the convention and reaffirmed his support at various events throughout the week.

Yet another hack came to light on Thursday, when four people familiar with the matter told Reuters that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating a cyber attack against the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which raises money for Democrats running for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Sanders supporters on Thursday wore fluorescent green T-shirts that said “Enough is Enough”. Sanders supporters protested what they believed was a rigged election, frequently disrupting proceedings inside the Wells Fargo Center and staging a walkout after Clinton’s formal nomination Tuesday. “I know that I have just lived history and I can follow in her footsteps”. “Your cause is our cause”.

But as she formally accepted the nomination, and became the first woman to do so for a major party ticket, she sought to articulate that it was not just a personal victory. And, they argue that that some in the party don’t understand how the nation’s ethnic and racial minorities may be affected by a Donald Trump presidency.

“It’s true. I sweat the details”, she said in a policy-laden speech. Well, he could start by actually making things in America again. “No wonder people are anxious and looking for reassurance – looking for steady leadership”.

Democrats contrasted their optimistic message with the more troubled vision of the state of the nation presented by Trump and others at the GOP convention a week earlier. Speakers, some of whom included military and police officers, made frequent mentions of religion and patriotism.

“I certainly know that with her as our commander-in-chief, our foreign relations will not be reduced to a business transaction, I also know that our armed forces will not become an instrument of torture”, said Allen.

A Gallup poll released earlier this month found that Trump and Clinton are among the worst-rated presidential candidates of the last 70 years. They both garner high “unpopularity” ratings.

Stephen Miller, Trump’s senior policy adviser, blasted Clinton’s speech as an “insulting collection of cliches and recycled rhetoric”.

“A president should respect the men and women who risk their lives to serve our country”, she said, adding that Trump can’t even handle the rough-and-tumble of a presidential campaign.
