Hillary Clinton Officially Accepts Dems’ Nomination, Capping Historic Convention
Hillary Clinton on Thursday accepted the Democratic Party’s White House nomination, casting herself as a tireless champion of the people and rejecting Donald Trump’s dark picture of America.

“When any barrier falls in America, it clears the way for everyone”, Clinton, the Democratic Party’s nominee, said in the final speech of the Democratic National Convention at the Wells Fargo Center.
Capitalizing on the advantage of following the Republican convention, Clinton chose “stronger together” as the theme of the night to highlight Trump’s emphasis on how he alone could solve the nation’s problems.
She rejected his plans to build a wall on the southern border of the U.S. and bar Muslims from entering the country.
“It’s the most personal moment on the campaign, talking to a big audience about what she wants to do for the future”, Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta said on a Facebook live stream.
“So this year, in this election, I’m asking you to join me, to reject cynicism and reject fear and to summon what is best in us; to elect Hillary Clinton as the next president of the United States and show the world we still believe in the promise of this great nation”, he said.
The night also saw speeches by Republicans who decided this election to vote for Clinton over Trump, as well as the families of fallen police officers.
Democrats argued all week from the convention stage that the NY billionaire was temperamentally unfit for the job. “A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man you can trust with nuclear weapons”.
“That is not the America I know”, Trump Jr. said in reference to what policies need to change, while Obama used the phrase to discuss the types of attacks Donald Trump uses in speeches and on Twitter.
Trump’s fiery message of unfairness and decline in America has resonated with white, working class voters in particular.
Mrs Clinton also outlined what she would do in office.
Referring to Trump’s request Tuesday that Russian Federation uncover emails deleted by Hillary Clinton, Wasserman Schultz said Thursday the statement was “treasonous, it’s seditious, it’s unacceptable”.
“In writing her handsome speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking”, Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller previously told USA Today. She put forth an argument that Democrats and her presidency would be a boon for the American middle class.
“Donald Trump can’t even handle the rough-and-tumble of a presidential campaign”.
Kaine ladled on the sarcasm Thursday, suggesting that “you’ve got to give a guy a break who’s only been in politics for the last month or two and not that well informed”.
“He wants us to fear the future and fear each other.”
Trump, a 70-year-old NY businessman who has never held political office, is running just ahead of Clinton in a RealClearPolitics average of recent national opinion polls.
Clinton said it would be her “primary mission” to create more opportunities and more good jobs with rising wages, and to confront stark choices in battling determined enemies and “threats and turbulence” around the world and at home. Barack Obama, she served as his secretary of state, enjoying for a time some of the highest approval ratings of her long career in the public spotlight.
