Hillary Clinton prepares for unpredictable Donald Trump at debate

“Donald Trump’s answers are concise and they’re confident, and they’re pointed the way a leader – the way a leader answers questions, frankly”, she said on Fox News radio. In a bit that was more barbed than anything that happened during Trump’s appearance, Fallon handed Clinton a bag of items that Trump left behind: a bag of softballs (indicating that she would get the same treatment as her rival), a photo of Putin framed in a heart, and a CD of Pink Floyd’s The Wall. “We can not let this go on”, Mrs. Clinton said.

The lead Clinton enjoyed for months in swing state and national polls has all but evaporated, raising the stakes for the first debate.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton boards her campaign plane at Westchester County Airport in White Plains, N.Y., Monday, Sept. 19, 2016.

Donald Trump says he finally admitted President Barack Obama was born in the United States because he wanted to “get on with the campaign”.

Both Clinton and Trump have been preparing for the debate. Trump also said news that more than 800 individuals with deportation orders were mistakenly granted citizenship prove his claims that the current system must be strengthened.

The Trump and Clinton campaigns have also avoided the traditional tactic of playing down their own candidate’s debate skills in order to lower expectations.

O’REILLY: Alright, but after the debate things will change and you will see. The Democratic nominee has no more campaign events scheduled before the debate.

Speaking to a crowd of students at Temple University, Mrs. Clinton said that she understood why they were cynical about politics and politicians, but said they were wrong if they didn’t think their vote mattered this year. “And I understand it’s a contact sport”. Trump 68, Clinton 23.

If she won’t do that (which she won’t), then at least Clinton can stop publicly pitching Republicans and start making the case for her domestic program, which really is reasonably good. She said she is tested and ready: “I have sat at that table in the Situation Room”.

That does not mean Johnson is likely to become a viable candidate, either in NY or elsewhere. Bernie Sanders attacking her on the issue. Well, Clinton did spend much of August trying to win Republican votes, saying she wants to “be the president for all Americans”.

Clinton and her campaign aides have tried to keep a lid on leaks about Clinton’s debate process, preferring not to telegraph to the Trump campaign how the former secretary of state will go after the businesses magnate. “Maybe he will try to be presidential and try to convey a gravity that he hasn’t done before or will he come in and try to insult and try to score some points”.
