“The problems we face now – poverty and violence at home, war and destruction overseas – will last only as long as we continue relying on the same politicians who created them”, Trump declared in his acceptance speech.

“In 2008, she was known as the closer for President Obama and she will play that role for Hillary this election, by talking about how America’s children need Hillary to be their next president”, said Kristina Schake, the Clinton campaign’s deputy communications director, who previously served as Michelle Obama’s White House communications director.

During his speech at the Republican National Convention last week, Trump opened by outlining a series of national security threats, warning of terrorism and attacks against police while positioning himself as the savior who will restore safety.

Hillary Clinton was affirmed as the party’s nominee Tuesday night at a convention that appeared to be finding its stride as it focused on appealing to the coalition Clinton will need to win – blacks, Hispanics, women and young people – and putting to bed the drama of formally defeating liberal challenger Bernie Sanders. Now that both have had their moments, we will have to look at the polls to see which candidate won over the public.

The candidate and her team were moving in Pennsylvania in a convoy of more than two dozen vehicles, including two large buses with the campaign slogan “Stronger Together” emblazoned on the side in giant letters.

After a convention speech aimed squarely at undercutting Trump, the first female presidential nominee heads off on a bus tour through two Rust Belt battlegrounds, OH and Pennsylvania.

For months Clinton has been criticized for the fact that her campaign (and its message) do not fit nicely onto a bumper sticker. “She knows that sometimes during those 40 years, she’s made mistakes, just like I have, just like we all do”. Bernie Sanders, have grumbled about Kaine being on the ticket, particularly because of his support for “fast track” approval of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact.

Clinton’s convention has been awash in history, with energized delegates celebrating her formal nomination as the first woman to ever lead a major political party in the general election.

Early in her speech, she thanked her formal rival Sen. ‘Go back out there, ‘ she said. She’s ready. She never quits. “I get it that some people just don’t know what to make of me”.

“Trump has left behind a well-documented record of bankruptcies, thousands of lawsuits, angry shareholders and contractors who feel cheated, and disillusioned customers who feel ripped off”, Bloomberg said.

“I’ve been saying let’s just beat her on November 8”, he said, “but you know what?” The president brought just about everybody in the hall to their feet with a speech created to boost her with the electoral coalition that twice has elected him to the White House. But Trump said Friday that Sanders “sold his soul to the devil” when he – unlike some of his loudly protesting supporters – threw his support behind Clinton. “So let me tell you”.

This is the first time in almost 40 years that the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which represents 4.1 million Hispanic owned businesses and generates $661 billion in annual economic benefit, has endorsed any candidate.

Before a packed Wells Fargo Center, Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president, delivered a rousing speech that drew cheers and standing ovations time and again.

She argued that Democrats are the party of working people but have failed to acknowledge the depth of the problem.

“Donald Trump, you are asking Americans to trust you with our future. She was right. You have to stand up to bullies”.

Lanchaster said she has been following Clinton’s career since 2006, read her autobiography and liked what she did as Secretary of State: “She’s exceptionally qualified”.

Clinton, accompanied by running mate Tim Kaine and their spouses, will speak about economic opportunity, diversity and national security, themes hammered home this week by a stream of politicians, celebrities, gun-violence victims, law enforcement officers, and activists of all sexualities and races. He’s taken the Republican Party a long way, from “Morning in America” to ‘Midnight in America. They live in a world in which more women than men have college degrees.
