Hillary Clinton Q&A at Journalism Conference Draws Criticism
On Sunday, Clinton told Fox News’ Chris Wallace that the Federal Bureau of Investigation director “said my answers were truthful, and what I’ve said is consistent with what I have told the American people”.

Critics argued that, while Comey did not assert she lied to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, nor did he pass judgment on whether she told the truth to ordinary Americans.
Last month, Clinton was found to have been “extremely careless” but not criminal by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which did not recommend pressing charges that would nearly certainly have torpedoed her run for the White House. But the controversy has continued to burn and her rare appearance on Fox News put it back on the media agenda.
“I was shocked myself that I’ve done almost 300 interviews and they’re not even sure they’ve captured all the that ones I’ve done”, Clinton said.
The Clinton campaign’s press secretary, Brian Fallon, suggested in response to CNN’s Dan Merica that Clinton was, indeed, participating in a press conference.
“I hope you will compare what I’m proposing to what my husb-.my opponent is talking about”, she said, in a bid to draw the attention of reporters towards the difference in policies of the two opponents.
“But I do think having him say that my answers to the Federal Bureau of Investigation were truthful, and then I should quickly add what I said was consistent with what I had said publicly, and that is really sort of in my view trying to tie both ends together”.
She has often faced questions about her statements in support of a 1994 crime bill passed by her husband Bill Clinton.
In congressional testimony last month, Mr. Comey said more than 100 emails sent or received through Mrs. Clinton’s private account contained classified information, though the majority of them were not clearly marked. “America is better than Donald Trump”.
Trump has also critiqued Clinton, saying Tuesday it had been 241 days since she held a press conference.
‘As you know, Secretary Clinton accepted our invitation.
But the event, where Mrs. Clinton spoke and took a few pre-selected questions at the National Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Hispanic Journalists’ conference in Washington, seemed to raise as many questions as it answered for some attendees. It isn’t clear if Clinton will actually answer questions by reporters after the event.
The Obama administration has also been assailed by reporters of falling well short of a promise to be the “most transparent administration in history”. She nodded and smiled.
They say politics makes unusual bedfellows, but this is ridiculous. “I take it seriously”, she said. “After all, what good did that do me?”
She urged voters to look at her record in public service, adding: “This is a crossroads election”.
“Now I think journalists have a special responsibility to our democracy in a time like this”, she said.
“Here’s what people don’t understand”.
“So I think that we have to recognise that some of the appeal is xenophobic, and racist, and misogynistic and offensive”.
“We need to build an economy in a future that every American can be proud of and a part of. Her decision to support this event further shows her commitment to diversity, and we welcome her just as we’ve welcomed President George W. Bush and Mexican President Vicente Fox to previous conventions”, NAHJ President Mekahlo Medina said in the release.

Perhaps the most artful question of the day asked Clinton to describe the most meaningful conversation she’s ever had with an African American.
