Hillary Clinton Questioned by Federal Bureau of Investigation

The FBI is investigating Clinton and her aides over whether they mishandled classified information on a private email server she used while serving as secretary of state.

For her part, Mrs. Clinton submitted to an interview with the FBI on Saturday as the Obama administration nears completion of its investigation into her use of a secret email server during her time as State Department secretary.

The FBI won’t recommend criminal charges against Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server while secretary of state, agency Director James Comey said Tuesday, lifting a major legal threat to her presidential campaign.

“The bottom line for me is I respect the professionalism and integrity of the officials at the Department of Justice handling this process”, she said. Clinton declined to talk to the inspector general, but the audit said that she had feared “the personal being accessible” if she used a government email account.

Indeed, the scandal exacerbated earlier this week when her husband, former US President Bill Clinton, met with current Attorney General Loretta Lynch. In a turn of events, it was revealed that Lynch had a meeting with former U.S. President and Clinton’s husband, Bill Clinton.

Lynch asserted they did not discuss any pending investigations, but the conversation sparked an uproar – with some Republicans and Clinton rivals calling for a third-party to be appointed to handle the case. Ms. Lynch described the encounter as a purely “social” occurrence that wouldn’t “have a bearing” on the e-mail investigation yet added, “I certainly would not do it again”. Lynch said Friday the meeting had “cast a shadow” over the investigation.

In just a few weeks Hillary Clinton will stand on the Democratic convention stage and be formally announced as the party nominee.

“I fully expect to accept their recommendations”, said Lynch, who has the option of modifying any possible charges against Clinton. “What she did was wrong!”

Clinton has brushed aside the drama surround her email practices. He nominated her in 1999 to serve as United States attorney for the eastern district of NY.

Clinton turned over some 30,000 emails to State Department officials after she stepped down from the job three years ago.

Despite FBI’s refusal to comment about the meeting, it’s definitely a sign that the investigation is coming to an end and we can only wait for them to conclude its probe. Any finding against her could lead to problems for her as a presidential candidate.

As for security concerns presented by Clinton’s decision to use a private server, versus the State Department’s server, Schiff said it wouldn’t be a “surprise” if there had been one or more attempts to hack it.

The emails were routed through a server located in the basement of Clinton’s NY home during her tenure as the nation’s top diplomat.
