Hillary Clinton quotes Hamilton, slams Trump in rousing DNC speech
Clinton was clearly emotional as she walked on stage, and said: “I’m so happy this day has come”. “I will be a president for Democrats, Republicans, and Independents”, she said.

The result was a Democratic convention that at times felt like a Republican one, packed with patriotic themes, optimistic invocations of American greatness, endorsements by retired generals, tributes to soldiers and law enforcement, and loud roars of “USA!” “We haven’t done a good enough job”. “And I promise you, our strength, our greatness, does not depend on Donald Trump”. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday in Philadelphia that Trump’s fight against “Washington insiders” was prone to turn off some Republicans.
“We are clear-eyed about what our country is up against”, she said.
Clinton touched all the bases a Democratic nominee needs to touch, from equal rights for women, minorities and LGBT people to immigration reform.
Hours later, Trump told Fox News he was being “sarcastic” although shortly after his remarks on Wednesday, he tweeted that Russian Federation should share the emails with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She will be tasked with winning the trust of a public that is deeply skeptical of her honesty.
What was most dramatic about the speech was the early prominence she gave the anti-Trump message, a recognition that, at least right now, her strongest argument isn’t who she is, but who she isn’t: She’s not Donald Trump, a unsafe, bullying, democracy-eroding demagogue.
Clinton says the slogan “stronger together” that’s been featured in her campaign is a guiding principle for the country.
But addressing her image of putting policy above politics, Clinton was unrepentant.
She says that, in the end, voters will reject a candidate who says that “I alone can fix it”, as Trump put it so directly in his acceptance speech.
It’s part of a campaign effort to show the softer side of the former first lady, senator and secretary of state. “Keep up the hard work – and courage!” She talks slowly and deliberately about how becoming a mother has created a sense of urgency for her about the choices in this campaign.
She has held her life close to her vest, revealing only snippets over the years.
“You’re not going to see some sort of Zell Miller come out”, he said.
Hillary ended her slam on Donald’s claims, reminding him that it’s not “I” but “We in “We the people”.
The two women, New Yorkers of similar ages with high-profile parents, have been friendly in the past. In Wisconsin, Clinton has opened up a almost 40 point lead with white college women, far larger than the 13-point lead Obama enjoyed over Mitt Romney with the same group of voters four years ago.
“Don’t let anyone tell you our country is weak, we’re not”, she said.
But some Democrats are less interested.
Chelsea Clinton introduced Hillary Clinton at the Democratic National Convention, telling personal stories about her mother Hillary Clinton, describing her “mom” as a caring grandmother with a deep love of family who understands what it means “to be smiled on by fate”. “We have to decide whether we will all work together so we can all rise together”, Clinton said in an address on the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. Tim Kaine’s speech that said “ELECTION FRAUD #WikiLeaks”. “And she was very, very disappointed”, Sarandon said as the other celebrities joined her on a platform.
Thousands of activists have taken to the streets during the convention to voice support for Sanders and his liberal agenda.
The first woman to lead a major USA political party toward the White House, Clinton will be greeted today by a crowd of cheering delegates eager to see history made in the November election.
Demonstrator Shannon Morgan, who’s from suburban NY, said she’s worn out by political frustration, long days and hot pavement. She nodded to her interest in the details of policy, saying those details matter to the people they affect.

“I certainly know that with her as our commander-in-chief, our foreign relations will not be reduced to a business transaction, I also know that our armed forces will not become an instrument of torture”, said Allen.
