Hillary Clinton Retains Solid Lead in Florida Over Bernie Sanders

The possibility of her falling behind Sanders in Iowa and New Hampshire is now raising the specter of a protracted nomination fight between the two rivals, meaning Clinton-aligned Democrats, who had long hoped their candidate could save money while Republicans spent millions bludgeoning each other with negative ads, now expect the race to bleed into the spring and possibly longer.

Clinton drew a similar contrast between the candidates’ approaches on the water problem in Flint, “the most relevant answer” in the last debate.

Clinton took to television last Thursday to criticize Republican Gov. Rick Snyder’s handling of the issue in the aftermath, but defended a decision not to go to the city. “I wanted to know what was happening and what the facts were”.

But, she said, she’s still considering caucusing for Sanders.

“Look, I think we have to do very well in Iowa”.

In December, Clinton led Sanders in the Hawkeye State by 18 points in CNN/ORC’s polling, 54 percent to 36 percent.

“Well, you know, I lived a lot of years in Arkansas”, she began, “and one of my favorite sayings I learned is, ‘If you find a turtle on a fence post, it didn’t get there by accident'”.
