Hillary Clinton’s lead narrows in CNN Poll of Polls

At a February 12 Cincinnati rally featuring former President Bill Clinton, former Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory joked about efforts to get him to “flip” from Clinton to Sanders, then repeated that he considers her the best qualified for the job.

In the 10 days since Bernie Sanders thumped Clinton in the New Hampshire Democratic primary, the pro-Clinton superPAC Priorities USA Action has spent $1.3 million on her behalf. Clinton calls her up to sit on her lap, and she consoles her. “I’m going to do everything I can so you don’t have to be scared”, Clinton says, tearing up herself. Donald Trump has taken a more than 20-point lead over US Senator Ted Cruz of Texas in the Republican race for the presidential nomination, bolstering his position ahead of the party’s primary in SC on Saturday, according to a national Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Sanders campaign adviser Tad Devine said he doesn’t consider an early superdelegate count to be very meaningful because they are free to change their minds right up until the convention. “This will help prepare her for the general election against the Republican nominee”.

That result was common in the states PPP polled, which included those with primaries between March 1 and March 8.

In the S.C. poll, Sanders performed well among self-identified independents, leading Clinton by 46 percent to 43 percent. A Pew Research Center poll in December 2007, before the SC primary in January 2008, showed Clinton with 43 percent support among black voters compared to Obama’s 44 percent. “We’re outlining where the senator stands on immigration”, said Cesar Vargas, the national Latino outreach strategist for the Sanders campaign.

“There are still very real barriers holding back African-Americans from fully participating in our economy and our society”, Clinton said, citing disparities between blacks and whites in earnings, health and criminal sentencing.

Others talk about their relationship with Clinton, who has been in Democratic politics for decades.

We enthusiastically endorse Hillary Clinton.

Contrary to rumors circulating that night and the next day, Clinton did not edge out Sanders by simple luck. “I wrestled with that responsibility for a while, until I realized that I don’t have to decide – I can let you decide”.

The Latino Victory Fund, the political arm of a group co-founded by Hollywood star Eva Longoria that advocates for electing Hispanics to public office, endorsed Clinton. This is an added challenge for campaigns trying to get their supporters out to caucus. She switched to uncommitted while she sees how matters involving the territory play out in the campaign.
