Hillary Clinton’s legacy is terrorism and destruction says Donald Trump
In a party convention beset by distractions – Melania Trump’s plagiarism, Ted Cruz’s defiance – there’s been one part of the program that delegates say has been almost flawless: Donald Trump’s grown children.

“I am not in the habit of supporting someone who attacks my wife and attacks my father”, he said. The fact a sitting US senator organized a revolt of the delegates from convention floor-and that the RNC and Trump operatives quashed that revolt by transparently violating the rules-was remarkable.
Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump spoke to Mark Halperin, a host of The Circus, about his reflections on the Republican National Convention that ended Thursday in Cleveland, including the controversy surrounding the speech delivered by his rival, Sen.
Earlier in the evening, former University of Georgia and pro football quarterback Fran Tarkenton said of his longtime friend: “He understands that teams win, individuals don’t”.
Trump himself got into the act with a tweet saying that Cruz had broken his pledge to support the nominee (a pledge that Trump himself had said he wouldn’t honor), that Cruz had been booed, that he had seen the text of the speech and allowed it to proceed, and that it was no big deal. Indeed, there’s already a whiff of this emerging from Cruz confidants as they push back against the hyperbolic attacks over last night’s speech.
And that Trump and his allies compounded.
She called her father “famous but not well-known”, describing him as warm and caring.
Popular with supporters for his broad slogans, off-the-cuff style and promises to apply business savvy to the economy and get tough on immigration and security, Trump has been thin on policy. Unlike the celebrity businessman, Pence is an experienced politician and ally of party leaders. Not Marco Rubio, not Chris Christie, not Newt Gingrich.
But Trump said Friday that “Ted never denied it was his father”.
In his nomination acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, Trump said that “there can be no prosperity without law and order” while stating that “in this race for the White House, I am the law and order candidate”.
Trump and his aides have been unable to put to rest questions about whether they can mount a sophisticated campaign to take on Clinton’s well-oiled operation. That decision was sure to spark a new round of second guessing about the campaign’s management of the convention and preparedness for the bruising campaign against Clinton.
Throughout Ted Cruz’s career, he has been accused of putting his own political interests above those of his party.
The group said it was trying to put a positive counter to Trump’s negative campaign with a message of unity. He’s also gotten the ear of former President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton’s husband. When the crowd chanted, ‘Lock her up! The party was in the unusual role of putting some careful distance between itself and Trump, whose negative poll numbers are high.
“What happened to professionalism, manners and humanity in our politicians and citizens?” asked Bill Pickle, a SC delegate.
“I think Donald Trump showed a lot of leadership by being able to walk into that arena”.
“I don’t think anyone who lived in Minnesota through the 1998 election should be dismissive of Donald Trump”, Martin said.

The drama exposed lingering rifts in the party after a bruising nominating process and threatened to overshadow Gov. Mike Pence’s first speech as the party’s vice presidential nominee.
