Hillary Clinton’s makes big pitch to regain the middle-class

Just hours before her address, Trump unleashed another round of attacks on President Barack Obama, calling him the “founder” of the Islamic State militant group – and Clinton, its co-founder. But Clinton has echoed Trump in saying she opposes the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a trade deal that she once supported and hasn’t been ratified by Congress. Gary Hufbauer, senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, says the agreement would be a net benefit for the US, which has lower trade barriers than other participating nations. That is why I have announced we will withdraw from the deal before that can ever happen. “We may not agree on everything, but this is not a normal election and I will work hard over the next three months to earn the support of anyone willing to put our country first”.

Hoping to keep the pressure up on Trump, Clinton is also planning to release her 2015 tax returns in the coming days. Yet “Clinton has emphasized she’d be more transactional and do business with Congress in a way that Obama hasn’t, which is a reason major tax reform is possible”, he said.

Clinton meant to try to make the case that Trump’s agenda would benefit him and his wealthy friends, and to characterize his plans as an update of “trickle-down economics”, according to her campaign.

Yet, as Trump attempts to run an economic populist campaign that hits Clinton on trade and taxes, it’s an open question whether the history books will be updated with the term “Trump Democrats” after November. To be honest, he hasn’t said much of anything concerning the housing industry.

“It’s just insane stuff, and I think that people who engage in that kind of uncivilized discourse should not be holding any public office”, said Blanchard.

Clinton also accused Trump of fear-mongering when it comes to trade.

“His approach is based on fear, not strength-fear that we can’t compete with the rest of the world even when the rules are fair”, she said.

“I think there are a lot of better ways to spend the money”, Clinton said.

It was Clinton’s first trip to MI since March, when she unexpectedly lost the primary to Vermont Sen. Tim Kaine, have been working to take voters’ focus off past positions on trade and onto her proposals to create new jobs, increase wages, and grow the economy.

Neck and neck in Iowa: Trump and Clinton are almost tied in Iowa, a new poll shows.

Both Clinton and Trump are talking tough on trade.

Just before her speech, Clinton toured the Futuramic plant with owner Mark Jurcak and met with employees who are making rocket boosters for NASA and parts for the F-35 Fighter jet.

Clinton also tried to convince lower and middle class voters who support Trump that the GOP nominee is working against their interests.

The anti-Trump Republicans fail to understand the Trump movement, a clear message to the establishment Republicans from ordinary Americans who are tired of empty promises, tired of business as usual in Washington, and tired of being told what to do.

“It wasn’t because Trump couldn’t pay them”, Clinton said. “Neither plan is going to make America great and secure again the way they were in the 1950s”.

Trump’s call to erase the estate tax, she said, is a clear-cut handout to the rich, since the tax applies only to inheritances of more than $5 million per individual and affects just 0.2 percent of all estates.

She prioritized affordable housing, school repairs and failing water systems – an acute and present need in nearby Flint, Michigan – at the top of her infrastructure plan.

That included a pitch to dramatically boost infrastructure spending-an idea Trump also backs-as well as support for getting every American home broadband internet within four years and tax credits for companies that offer paid apprenticeships.

Hillary Clinton lambasted Donald Trump’s economic plans in a speech Thursday as nothing more than a huge tax break for himself, labeling tax cuts he proposed earlier this week as “the Trump Loophole”.

Explaining how she’d actually bring any of that about wasn’t Clinton’s mission Thursday; her goal was to convince Rust Belt voters that she, not Trump, would help them to benefit from the economic recovery.
