Hillary Clinton Saved by Usher From ‘Black Lives’ Protest
He later added, “She (Clinton) hasn’t really centered Black lives in her agenda and that is a problem to us.”

A security officer came and escorted the students out.
#AUCShutItDown, an Atlanta group affiliated with Black Lives Matter, said they protested the rally to have Clinton address issues impacting the African-American community, especially policing.
“We must recognize that blacks are four times more likely than whites to get arrested for marijuana possession, even though the same proportion of blacks and whites use marijuana”, Sanders said in a statement. “We have to start behaving like we are all part of the same family and like every child is our child”.
The former secretary of state seized on a national discussion about racial tensions and police practices sparked by a series of shooting deaths of unarmed black men by white law enforcement officers, calling for an end to racial profiling and seeking new sentencing guidelines for cocaine convictions. And the president of the United States is justifying that, but not only that.
Georgia alone has over 30,000 people going to jail annually for minor charges related to cannabis (marijuana).
“Thank you all very much”.
Clinton recognized Republican Gov. Nathan Deal for his ban the box efforts, and said she was encouraged by bipartisan approaches to criminal justice reform.
Clinton wants to implement this inside the federal government and with federal contractors. In a CNN/ORC poll from early October, Clinton has 59 percent support from black voters to Sanders’s 4 percent among black voters, who make up about half of the state’s Democratic electorate. Bernie Sanders, has struggled to attract support from black voters. She also met with Sabrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Martin, who was killed by a police officer in Florida in 2012.
She also said she wants to end disparities in sentencing between people caught with powder cocaine and those found with crack. The Act put a firewall between commercial banks and prohibited them from participating in investment banking and Wall Street speculating.
However, as the Black Lives Matter movement seeks a greater role in shaping the conversation around a justice system that disproportionately affects African Americans, candidates are reacting in decidedly different ways on the campaign trail. No, they tried to erase John Lewis. “I think they should have listened”, Beckel said. Vincent Fort (D-Atlanta) told Atlanta Progressive News.
BLM activists aren’t just targeting Hillary Clinton.
Christie remains a long shot for the Republican nomination, but his words similar to comments made by the Texas senator Ted Cruz reflect what is driving the reaction to Black Lives Matter among conservatives and forcing candidates like Marco Rubio, rising as an increasingly viable opponent to Clinton, to tread a fine line on issues of policing and race. The potential for that is certainly here in Georgia. A few the other issues they fought for included full employment, better housing, better education, effective health care, the murder of Black people (yeah, a few of that was going on then), the affirmation that we, Blacks, are a freed people and must be treated as such.

Johnetta Elzie, an activist with the group Campaign Zero, said that numerous issues Clinton spoke about, including racial profiling and ending private prisons, had already been addressed by other candidates.
