Hillary Clinton says she regrets calling ‘half’ of Donald Trump’s supporters ‘deplorable’
The head of the Republican National Committee is describing Hillary Clinton’s description of Donald Trump supporters as “insulting”.

But, following a firestorm of backlash, Clinton released a statement saying her comments were “grossly generalistic”, and that she regretted denigrating “half” of Trump’s supporters.
Sexism has previously been a topic of discussion on the campaign trail after Trump accused Clinton of playing the “woman card” during the primary season in April, stating: “I think the only card she (Clinton) has is the women’s card”.
“And unfortunately, there are people like that and he has lifted them up … he tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric”.
Lauer’s performance was widely panned by critics, who took him to task for letting Donald Trump lie about his opposition to the war in Iraq and managing time poorly during Hillary Clinton’s segment.
-Clinton has called a segment of Trump’s supporters “deplorables” before, most recently in an interview with an Israeli television station earlier this week.
“She said, “Look, I’m generalizing here, but a lot of his support is coming from this odd place, that he’s given a platform to the alt-right and white nationalists, ‘” Kaine said in an interview with the Washington Post”. “How can she be President of our country when she has such contempt and disdain for so many great Americans?”
In addition, the former first lady said that on Friday she will meet with experts and top bipartisan security and defense officials to analyze strategy options for dealing with the IS.
Some of those people were irredeemable, she said, but they did not represent America. “Those are people we have to understand and empathise with as well”.
Polls tend to narrow as Election Day nears, and the Clinton campaign has struggled to overcome controversy about how she handled classified information while serving as secretary of state.
Clinton then pivoted and tried to characterize the other half of Trump’s supporters, putting them in “that other basket” and saying they need understanding and empathy. “They are Americans and they deserve your respect”. Merrill argued that “alt-right” leaders are supporting Trump and “their supporters appear to make up half his crowd when you observe the tone of his events”.
Speaking on NBC’s Commander in Chief Forum held in New York, Trump insisted that he had never supported the war in Iraq.
But the moment recalled comments about voters – also at private fundraisers – that have tripped up presidential nominees in the past.
The Republican nominee went on to reveal that, during an apparently secret security briefing, he had been told Mr Obama had not followed the recommendations of his advisers. “Her judgement is flawed”, he said.
