Hillary Clinton says US again ‘at a moment of reckoning’
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump may have spent the last two weeks of conventions highlighting their differences but their daughters actually have a lot in common and are friends.

The younger Ms. Clinton, introducing Hillary Clinton to become the first woman to accept a major party’s nomination for president, sought to soften her mothers image while simultaneously praising her toughness as a leader. “I will be a president for Democrats, Republicans, independents, for the struggling, the striving and the successful”. Many on social media were quick to point out that surely Clinton knows this – and wore white in part to honor those who fought for the vote, the original cracks in that highest glass ceiling now shattered.
“I’m also going to pay special attention to those parts of our country that have been left out and left behind”, she said.
“She’s been there for us, even if we haven’t always noticed”, he said. She nodded to her interest in the details of policy, saying those details matter to the people they affect.
In typical Hillary fashion, Clinton hammered the issues, building a case not just against Donald Trump, but for a better America. Clinton brought all eyes onto her face, asking listeners to listen to a vision for America that she billed as uplifting and inclusive, while presenting her rival nominee Donald Trump’s vision as dark and morose.
Chambers acknowledged that the early uproar over published emails showing that top party officials had long preferred Clinton over Sanders “could have ruined this convention” had Debbie Wasserman Schultz not resigned as chair of the Democratic National Committee. “He wants to divide us – from the rest of the world, and from each other. And to all of your supporters here and around the country, I want you to know I’ve heard you”, Clinton said.
“Your cause is our cause”.
She also says terror attacks around the world require “steady leadership” to defeat a determined enemy.
Rallying in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Trump at times seemed to brush off the fierce Democratic criticism, which went so far as to question his sanity.
“A man you can bait with a tweet”, Clinton said, “is not a man you can trust with nuclear weapons”.
Watch Clinton try and persuade her nation that she should be elected US President. She pointed at the man who denied her the White House eight years ago, smiled wide and gave him a hug.
She said she hopes, “We can all live together in harmony and understand that we have differences and appreciate those who are different”. Her challenge, over the next 102 days, will be to hammer home those themes that her strategists amplified over the last four days: that Democrats are the party of inclusion and the middle class, that government programs can help lift Americans, that Clinton is the best prepared presidential nominee in a generation. Clinton’s short-term gain could be her party’s long-term pain.
“And tonight, I ask you to do for Hillary Clinton what you did for me”. “Yelling, screaming and calling each other names is not going to do it”.
