“He persuaded no one to vote for Hillary”, said Greg Gregg, a retired nurse from Salem, Oregon, who intends to cast his ballot in November for Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
“A spouse is just exceptionally credible and effective as a surrogate and can talk about the candidate in a way few can”, asked Chris Lehane, a Democratic strategist who worked in the Clinton White House.

In 2008, Clinton did a similar move when she lost out to Barack Obama, calling in from NY and thus the roll-call ended there. Her run for president came after her re-election to a second term, but was thwarted by Barack Obama’s improbable campaign. A party brewed around him: Family and friends toasting Hillary Clinton with beer and champagne for the gracious concession speech she had just delivered at Obama’s convention.

Trump appeared to approve of Bill Clinton’s appearance.
But this speech wasn’t aimed mainly at Republicans.
Mrs Clinton’s supporters say her Washington credentials show she has the experience needed to be president during a turbulent time for U.S. domestic and foreign policy issues.
