Hillary Clinton set to rejoin campaign trail from Thursday

Her doctor wrote in a letter that she had a “mild” and non-contagious form of pneumonia and remains “healthy and fit to serve as president”.

Trump had another physical in recent days, and he went on the television set of celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz on Wednesday to disclose his new health records. “She was advised to rest”, according to the letter, “put on a short course of antibiotics and continued on her allergy medications for an upper respiratory tract infection in the setting of her seasonal allergies”, but the condition worsened. Trump and Hillary Clinton, 68, the Democrat facing him in the November 8 presidential election, have both promised to release more medical information.

Speculation has surrounded Clinton’s health since she was forced to leave a 9/11 memorial service in NY early on Sunday. Clinton developed a blood clot behind her right knee, prompting the White House doctor to recommend hospitalization and a week of bedrest.

Bardack added: “She is recovering well with antibiotics and rest”.

The incident was preceded by Internet rumors fanned by conservative websites that she has broader health issues, a narrative the campaign wants to squash after Clinton spent much of August fundraising in private instead of holding public events. Armour Thyroid is used to treat hyperthyroidism and seems to be working for Clinton. She is scheduled to return to the campaign trail on Thursday. She has also had a normal mammogram and breast ultrasound.

Following the revelation of Mrs Clinton’s pneumonia, Mr Trump vowed soon to release “very, very specific numbers” from a recent check-up with Dr Bornstein. After consultation with a specialist, a decision was made to not switch Clinton to a newer anticoagulation drug. Clinton in 2015 released a two-page letter outlining her own medical condition.

The letter detailing her medical records describes the pneumonia diagnosis Clinton recently received.

Trump has not, however, released the same depth of medical details. Earlier Wednesday, campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told Fox News the results of Trump’s exam would be shared publicly “this week”.

But ever the showman, he pulled an outline of results of an exam, conducted by his longtime physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, from his jacket pocket for Oz to review during Wednesday’s taping. “Those were all the tests that were just done last week”, Trump said in an excerpt released by the show.

Trump weighs 267 pounds, according to media reports.

Obama spoke in Philadelphia, a pivotal city in deciding the presidential contest in Pennsylvania, seen as a must-win state for Trump on November 8.

She “is recovering well with antibiotics and rest” after being laid low over the weekend, when she suffered from fatigue and a low-grade fever, although her vital signs remained normal, Dr Bardack said. Republican nominee Donald Trump and surrogates such as former NY mayor Rudy Giuliani have seized on the conspiracies, declaring last month that Clinton “lacks the mental and physical stamina to take on Isis”.
