Hillary Clinton surprises crowd, joins Obama on stage at DNC
And he begged Democrats to overlook some of their differences with Mrs. Clinton, saying she’s made mistakes but she’s at least been “in the arena” fighting for liberal principles.

“That’s why I have confidence, as I leave this stage tonight, that the Democratic Party is in good hands”, the president said. “And I promise you, our strength, our greatness, does not depend on Donald Trump”, he said.
Obama ended to cheers, and the sounds of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”, before greeting Hillary Clinton with a hug.
“Hillary Clinton is “lista”, he said.
The Hill: Carl Bernstein: Trump’s Russian Federation talk “disqualifying” – “Bernstein, who famously helped uncover the Watergate scandal, said Democrats should capitalize on Trump’s remarks and keep the billionaire from reaching the White House”. Obama rejected that portrait. Our power doesn’t come from some self-declared savior promising that he alone can restore order.
“I am more optimistic about the future of America than ever before”, Obama told the audience.
Democrats said the comments were the latest demonstration that Trump is unqualified to be commander in chief.
President Obama’s ready to “pass the baton” to Hillary Clinton, according to his heartfelt speech at the DNC on July 27.
This is a role less familiar to Obama, and he won’t limit his advocacy to Clinton.
Clinton and Trump, a political novice, are locked in a tight race.
However, although Obama presented his own record of achievements as president as best he could, he admitted that he had fallen short in many areas and gave no details about what Clinton’s domestic, economic and foreign policies would be in any specific terms. This brought a chorus of boos to which Obama replied, “Don’t boo, vote”.
Obama’s speech served as a bookend to Bill Clinton’s address to the convention on Tuesday night.
Hawk said meeting other supporters of Sanders’ movement has shown her that there are others who, like her, who realize change is needed.
Former Oklahoma Sen. Fred Harris said it was important for his party’s nominee to showcase the “original Hillary Clinton, before she became so guarded” when she takes the convention stage.
As a few other speakers did, Obama acknowledged Clinton’s shortcomings as a candidate. Eight years ago, she’s was doing everything I was doing, but backwards and in heels.
“Here’s a little tip for you: when you want to know about the character of someone in public life, look to see they they have a passion”, he said. “That’s what happens when we try”.
On Monday night, Bernie Sanders delegates were seen waving Palestinian flags in full view of the TV cameras.
“Anyone who threatens our values, whether fascists or communists or jihadists or homegrown demagogues, will always fail in the end”, he added.
“It was Donald Trump who today walked in front of the cameras and ignited a firestorm”, ABC anchor David Muir said.
At the convention on Wednesday, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, Clinton’s running mate, described billionaire Trump as “a one-man wrecking crew” who can not be trusted in the Oval Office. “But I was filled with faith, faith in America”.
Biden, meanwhile, portrayed Trump as sympathetic to “dictators”, citing positive statements the Republican nominee has made about Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Obama criticized Trump for calling the USA military “a disaster” and suggesting the nation is weak. His Republican Party decided that the answer to hard-working Americans’ dreams is to slander our African-American President, stoke fear of Muslims, sow hatred of Latinos, insult Asians, and, of course, wage war against women. The contested Senate seats then were in states he’d lost twice. One man shouted, “Four more years!”
– Vice President Joe Biden will also make an appearance.
“Donald Trump, who wants to be president of the United States, is asking one of our adversaries to engage in hacking or intelligence efforts against the United States of America to affect an election”, Panetta said. He may also visit Democrat-friendly swaths of red states including Nebraska and Utah.

“It’s true”, she said. Trump, the Republican nominee, has said he will compete with Clinton in California, a state that has not gone for a Republican presidential candidate in almost 30 years.
