Hillary Clinton, Tim Kaine Hit Donald Trump on National Security
(Neither Trump nor Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton asked him to join their ticket, of course.) He is now backing Clinton and has been warning for weeks that a Trump presidency would lead to economic chaos. Already aided by a map that favored Democrats this cycle, the minority party only needs to flip five seats, or four if it wins the White House, to win back the majority lost two years ago.

Overall, the poll showed the two candidates in a statistical dead heat, with Trump leading nationally among likely voters, 45% to Clinton’s 43%. Each week until the election, we will feature a different one.
According to the Los Angeles Times’ Electoral College map, only four states now are clear toss-ups – Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Iowa. Clinton has 2/5 betting odds to win, while her top competition, Republican nominee Donald Trump, has 7/4 odds.
And her super PAC, Priorities USA, is launching a $5 million ad buy in the swing states North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, Nevada, Iowa and New Hampshire on Friday with a spot titled “I Love War”.
According to the latest national poll from CNN/ORC, Donald Trump is now basically tied with Hillary Clinton.
Trump stood by a previous comment that appeared to blame military sexual assaults on men and women serving together, but added he would not seek to remove women from the military. About 6 in 10 said they thought Obama would be the better debater over both John McCain and Mitt Romney.
The National Baptist Convention USA said Monday that Clinton will speak to their group Thursday in Kansas City.
But the latest figures are clear. Republican Sen. Rob Portman, however, is proving to be an exception this cycle even as Trump trails. On that, Clinton and Trump voters agree even though the candidates don’t, with 80 percent of Trump’s backers saying they would support such a bill and 94 percent of Clinton’s backers behind the idea. She was joined by labor leaders, including the AFL-CIO’s president, Richard L. Trumka; Lee Saunders, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees; and Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, one of the first unions to endorse Clinton a year ago.
In poll after poll, one thing remains constant: these two candidates are extremely unpopular. Trump is competitive with Clinton in terms of drawing support from his own party and his voters are more enthusiastic than hers.
Kirk, who served on President Barack Obama’s cabinet, doesn’t think the endorsement will equal votes either, but said it’s significant. It came as Clinton faced a resurgence of criticism over her use of a private e-mail server while she was US Secretary of State, and the relationship between the Clinton Foundation and some of its donors. “And it’s just not going to work”. FBI chief James Comey was called to testify in front of a Congressional committee, and last week published the notes of his investigation. Trump and Clinton are scheduled to appear in back-to-back question-and-answer sessions with members of the military.
Donald Turmp bristled when asked if he had “choked” during his meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.
Trump renewed his praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin for having “great control over his country”.
He has also tried to increase his outreach to minorities, from a promised “softening” on immigration that concluded with a fiery, nativist speech in Phoenix, to a stop at a black church in Detroit.

Shifting tone from one day to the next, his mercurial temperament makes it a almost impossible task for political analysts to measure the way American voters view him.
