Hillary Clinton to Lay Out Economic Agenda and Attack Donald Trump
Trump said, as president, that he would halve the number of income tax brackets and vowed that the poorest Americans will not pay taxes. The top rate now is almost 40 percent.

The differences between Clinton and Trump are stark and significant. Trump argued that his plan will help small businesses.
Asked in a television interview in May what tax rate he pays, Trump replied “It’s none of your business”.
Clinton said Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, would scrap regulations meant to hold corporations accountable, cut taxes on “millionaires and Wall Street money managers”, and eliminate the estate tax, an inheritance tax that generally hits the wealthy.
She will claim that Trump’s economic vision is “regurgitated trickle-down economics of the typical Republican, but worse”, casting the plan as “wildly unrealistic” and “destructive”, according to the memo.
A draft of the letter, which operatives say has at least 70 signatories, warns that Trump’s “divisiveness, recklessness, incompetence, and record-breaking unpopularity risk turning this election into a Democratic landslide”. I want to invest in our veterans, our kids, and our police officers.
Trump proposed a mix of tax breaks for Americans and a simplification of the tax code in an economic address on Monday in Detroit.
Clinton tries to court blue-collar voters in MI after a tour at design and manufacturing company Futuramic Tool and Engineering.
Her appearance followed Trump’s own speech on the economy, which he delivered in MI on Monday.
“I can provide serious, steady leadership that can find common ground and build on it based on hard but respectful bargaining”, she said.
“The down to earth talk she used today I really liked”, she said.
Trump and his supporters have been scrambling wildly all day to explain away the inexplicable, but they can stop wasting their time.
She also attacked Trump’s proposal to make most child-care expenses tax free, pointing out that the way it is structured makes it virtually certain that the greatest benefit would flow, again, to the wealthy.
Trump’s actual personal tax burden is unknown because he has broken with the long-standing tradition of presidential candidates and hasn’t yet released his tax returns for public review.
Even the venue for Thursday’s event is another chapter in this effort: Clinton will deliver her remarks at Futuramic Tool & Engineering in Warren, Michigan, a machining and manufacturing plant in swing Macomb County.
Both Clinton and Trump are drawing the support of just over 10 percent of voters from the opposing party. The GOP nominee was clearly suggesting that some of the “Second Amendment people” among his supporters could kill his Democratic opponent were she to be elected. The firm’s chief economist, Mark Zandi, who did the analyses, has supported Clinton.

Meanwhile, tension continues to fester in the top ranks of the RNC about how to deal with Trump, according to a GOP official.
