U.S. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s spokeswoman said on Friday Clinton’s plan to curb drug spending was not the blow to medical innovation that Pfizer Inc Chief Executive Ian Read described it as being on Thursday.

An address Thursday evening to the National Baptist Convention will be focused to an unusual degree on Clinton’s own faith and the role it played in her political life, Palmieri said.
Clinton also brought up a particularly sore subject with some black voters: Trump’s past insinuation the nation’s first black president was not born in the United States.
Clinton said that she sees the work of black leaders and “the passion of a new generation of black activists”.
“My experience is that we believe we have to work extra hard to make sure the positive notion of what she wants to do breaks through given the amount of interest that there is in what he says”, Palmieri said. “But you should. None of us is flawless”, Clinton said.
Palmieri said the four speeches (with the possibility of adding more) would be “more about her than about him” in an effort to ensure that “what is at the core of Hillary” is not lost in the coverage of “the controversial things that he says”.

“That’s the reality of the cycle we’re living in, and we just have to put more effort into making sure people see aspirationally where she … believes the country can go together”.
The second speech, on the economy, will be set in California.

At the televised forum on Wednesday night, Trump said he was “shocked” by information he got during the briefing. Upset over his lack of fact-checking of Trump, the Clinton campaign sent a fundraising email to their supporters hitting Lauer. “She’s another Madeleine Albright in my book”.
