Hillary Clinton tries to ease health concerns in return to trail

Trump said on the show that standing at a podium delivering speeches at campaign rallies is one of the ways he stays healthy on the campaign trail.

A Quinnipiac University poll out a day earlier, on Wednesday, found that results were too close to call when third party candidates were included, with Clinton at 41 percent and Trump at 39 percent.

Clinton has been recuperating at her home in Chappaqua, New York, according to her campaign. I certainly didn’t want to miss the 9/11 memorial.

The poll was conducted from September 8-13, including a stretch of time when Clinton faced criticism for failing to disclose a pneumonia diagnosis that led to her feeling unwell and leaving a 9/11 memorial service early.

Her Republican rival Donald Trump has avoided directly referring to Mrs Clinton’s medical problems but has made a veiled attack on her health.

With two months until Election Day, the race between Clinton and Trump is far tighter than many in both parties expected.

“We’re offering ideas, not insults”, she said.

After Clinton was taken from the NY ceremony to her daughter, Chelsea’s Manhattan apartment her physician squashed claims that the presidential candidate was suffering from something serious.

Clinton’s return to the campaign trail comes as polls show the race tightening both nationally and in key battleground states.

The doctor also confirmed that Clinton takes medicine for a thyroid condition, as well as blood thinner Coumadin.

Trump, after releasing his health information, spent Thursday laying out plans to lower taxes by $4.4 trillion over a decade and cut regulations, including some of those now meant to protect the food Americans eat and the air they breathe. It also released an additional two-page statement from Clinton’s longtime doctor on Wednesday stating that “she continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as president of the United States”.

“Why in the world did Hillary Clinton lie to everyone and hide such an important fact for two days, saying she was overheated and dehydrated and then, of course, hours and hours later after, unfortunately, her health became the biggest trending story of the day, not the 9/11 fallen, why wait all those hours?”

Tim Kaine, D-Virginia, about her diagnosis Friday, Clinton said, “My senior staff knew and information was provided to a number of people”. Both candidates’ doctors declared them fit to serve as president.

An upbeat Mrs Clinton walked onstage to James Brown’s song I Feel Good.

“It’s fair to say the public now knows more about Hillary Clinton than almost anyone in public life”, said campaign manager Robby Mook in a statement. Her letter made no mention of her weight, a key part of a medical exam; nor did a similar letter released previous year.

The new letter from Clinton’s doctor stated that a chest scan revealed she had “mild, non-contagious bacterial pneumonia”.

Meanwhile on Thursday, Trump delivered a speech in NY in which he vowed to boost the nation’s economy by at least 3.5 percent – well above current projections – and create 25 million new jobs over a decade.
