Hillary Clinton unloads on Bernie Sanders
But some say she is failing to respond effectively to Sanders. From health care to foreign policy, Clinton repeatedly referenced Sanders by name and questioned whether his ideas could ever become reality. “He’s been in Congress, he’s been elected to office a lot longer than I have”, Clinton said. He has also criticized Clinton for her ties with Wall Street, slamming her for charging an average of $225,000 for speaking appearances at six different big banks in 2013. She’s launched a fierce flurry of attacks on the Vermont senator, casting his domestic policy proposals as unrealistic and his foreign policy positions as naive. The speech, one adviser said, was created to “shake some sense into Iowans” and escalate the experience argument she has been making against Sanders with limited success.

Brown’s words sounded much like some of Sanders’ criticisms of Clinton, and Brown acknowledged that she’s not anti-Sanders as much as she’s pro-Clinton.

Clinton hammered Sanders as someone who “hasn’t thought it through” on a number of foreign policy issues Thursday, including Iran.
“The fact that she could be first woman president is so cool to me”.
“He has suggested that we invite Iranian troops into Syria”, Clinton said. “The challenges a president has to grapple with are beyond complicated, both at home and overseas. That is why is it is the hardest job”.
“He later was forced to apologize for his lies about her”, said Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs.
Though the tightening nature of the race, particularly in Iowa, hasn’t sparked widespread panic among her supporters quite yet, it’s worrying some donors, as well as Bill Clinton and their daughter, Chelsea, who shared her concerns at a meeting with supporters in NY this week, according to people close to the campaign, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss private conversations. Barack Obama used against her during her failed 2008 campaign. Instead, Iowa television viewers have seen more of an ad called “Stand up”, which includes only a mention of Clinton’s stance on guns in a laundry list of other campaign talking points.
Facing a tight race in Iowa and trailing in New Hampshire, Clinton’s campaign sees her support among minority voters as a major advantage.
It’s a disparity that reflects her strategy of trying to distinguish herself there from rival Bernie Sanders, who leads in polls in New Hampshire but not in Iowa, said Tim Hagle, a political science professor at the University of Iowa.
The former first lady also blasted Sanders plan for single-payer healthcare, casting it as something that would only give Republicans “an opening to come in and tear down everything we have achieved” with the Affordable Care Act.
She noted she only served in the Senate for eight years.
“I can’t do any of this alone”.
Although Clinton avoided directly hitting Sanders earlier in the day, she did comment on the fact that Sanders said earlier this week that groups like NARAL, Planned Parenthood and the Human Rights Campaign – all organizations that endorsed Clinton – were part of the “establishment” that he was running against.

“I have had a few hard times in my own life and I doubt there is anybody who hasn’t had their share”, Clinton said.
