Hillary Clinton warns Donald Trump ‘not qualified’ to be U.S. president

Simmering divisions among Democrats reached a boil last weekend when some Sanders backers lashed out at a Nevada state party convention where they felt the rules and leaders unfairly favoured Clinton.

Clinton supporters opened a campaign office for the former NY senator and secretary of state in downtown San Diego on Tuesday.

She said Trump says a lot of things that are provocative that actually make the important task of bringing everybody to the table and defeating terrorism more hard.

But Clinton’s stay-above-the-fray attitude masks unresolved questions that have gnawed at her campaign since Trump virtually locked up the Republican nomination. Asked whether she believes presumptive Republican nominee Trump is qualified to be president, Clinton said, “No, I do not”.

The remaining active Republican candidate, businessman Donald Trump, is expected to campaign in San Diego next week.

“It worries me a great deal”, Feinstein told CNN’s Manu Raju. Trump’s support clocks in at 42 percent, compared to Sanders’ support at 46 percent.

In response to the exchange, Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said in a statement: “Trump is doing what he does best, attacking when he feels wounded and dragging the American people through the mud for his own gain”.

Sanders has said that he will stay in the Democratic presidential primary race until June 14, the date of the final primary.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump said the allegations of sexual misconduct that have dogged Clinton for decades were far worse than claims aired by The New York Times that the real estate mogul has a past of harassing women. “I’m 3 million votes ahead of him, and I have an insurmountable lead in pledge delegates”, she told CNN in her hometown of Chicago.

Trump’s strong base of support comes from his popularity among working-class white voters without a college degree: He outperforms Clinton among those voters 61-42 percent. I think the Trump team recognizes the relevance of the Freedom Caucus, and the influence they have.

Since winning key primaries in March that solidified her advantage in the nomination contest, Clinton and her campaign have increasingly expressed confidence in her ability to secure the nomination.

“To the extent that we have events outside, I can guarantee they will be peaceful rallies, just like the senator is having all over the country”, Weaver said. “We went to Unity, New Hampshire, together, appeared together, spoke together, and made it absolutely obvious that I was supporting him, that he was grateful for that support”. “I think there is vulnerability”.

In exchange for a clear-cut endorsement of Clinton, Sanders is demanding that the party platform contain more explicit language regarding United States policy toward Israel.
