Hillary Clinton wins Arkansas’ Democratic primary

Clinton led slightly among those who saw the overall economy and jobs as the key issue, and had wider leads among voters who identified health care or terrorism as most important. More than a half-million unique Facebook users talked about Trump.

Many Republicans remain unconvinced that Rubio is the candidate who can take down Trump.

MSNBC’s Kristen Welker pointed out the disparity between Sanders and Clinton when voters based their preferences on trustworthiness, which appears to be part of the continued fallout from her private email scandal and the ensuing federal investigation. Trump later said he had not understood the interviewer who first raised the question about Duke, and he did repudiate him. Well, it is the day in which half of the states in the union hold political caucuses and primaries to determine their candidates for president.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who campaigned for Cruz in Texas, put it more bluntly.

For the majority of the debate, Cruz and Rubio bashed hard on Trump, saying he was not to be trusted because he’ll say whatever he thinks people want to hear, that he’s a fraud (see: Trump University), and unfit to be president. The results among all those voting in each contest have a margin of sampling error ranging from plus or minus 4 percentage points to plus or minus 7 percentage points. Results include interviews with 1,406 Democratic primary voters and 801 Republican primary voters. They split closely between first-term senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, according to exit polls conducted for The Associated Press and television networks by Edison Research. The Vermont senator was hoping Tuesday will turn his fortunes after several rough Democratic primaries.

“This campaign is not just about electing a president”, Sanders said.

Clinton also took some veiled shots at Republican front runner Donald Trump.

“Two weeks from tonight, right here in Florida, we are going to send a message loud and clear”, he said exuding confidence that he would win the Florida primary in two weeks from now. “It really undermines our fabric as a nation”.

Sanders won in his home of Vermont, plus Colorado, Minnesota and Oklahoma.

And that trend bore out across states – across the first nine Democratic contests, 74 to 86 percent of voters wanted a candidate who had experience.

Four in 10 voters in Vermont were independents, the highest of any Super Tuesday state. “I will go through all 50 states before we stop fighting to save the Republican Party from someone like that”.

Rubio’s goal on Super Tuesday was more modest – to stay competitive in the delegate count while eyeing a win in his home state of Florida on March 15.

At the time of her speech, the Democratic presidential frontrunner was projected to win Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
