Hillary Clinton Wins South Carolina Democratic Primary, Exit Poll Analysis Shows
Sanders, meanwhile, tops Clinton by a roughly 60%-40% margin among white voters.

Clinton won all women voters by 58 points and carried black women (37 percent of the electorate) by 78 points. “No question, Secretary Clinton won that state and she won it big”.
But the New York Times said if Clinton racks up similar proportions of the black vote in the South on Tuesday as she did in SC on Saturday, it would greatly reduce Sanders’s chances to win the Democratic nomination.
She never mentioned GOP front-runner Donald Trump’s name, but the comments appeared directed at him, and she seemed to reference his campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again”.
Clinton’s win provided an important boost for her campaign and a moment to wipe away bitter memories of her loss to Barack Obama in the SC primary eight years ago.
Preparing for the biggest delegate haul of the campaign, Hillary Clinton is trying to leave Bernie Sanders with little room to operate and douse the flames behind his once insurgent campaign.
Clinton defeated Sanders by a 74-26 margin.
Whatever the polls, Mr Rubio expressed confidence that Mr Trump will not be the Republican presidential nominee.
But the 11 states that hold Democratic nominating contests next Tuesday will send a whopping 18 percent of the delegates to Philadelphia. He was campaigning in Minnesota on Saturday night and was en route when the polls closed.
Exit polls indicate Clinton holds a massive lead over Sanders among African-Americans who voted on Saturday, winning the support of more than 80% of the demographic. In all the primaries so far, Sanders has received strong support among young voters aged between 18 and 29.
Is door closing fast for Bernie Sanders?
Looking ahead, Clinton’s aides know they are not going to knock Sanders out on March 1, but they hope by the end of the night on Tuesday – where 865 delegates are at stake – their campaign will have at least a 100 earned delegate lead over the Vermont senator.
“We, tonight, have started Hillary Clinton on her way to the White House”, said representative James E. Clyburn, the state’s most powerful black Democrat, as he introduced Hillary at a victory rally here.
But her campaign has looked on a firmer footing since she beat her socialist rival in Nevada this week and her whole family camped out in the Palmetto State to ensure nothing could go wrong this time.
Sanders, who has energized the party’s liberal wing and successfully courted numerous party’s youths, acknowledged Sunday he had been “decimated” by Clinton in SC. However, she has a substantial lead among superdelegates, the Democratic Party leaders who can vote for the candidate of their choice at this summer’s national convention, regardless of how their states vote.

About 880 delegates will be awarded Tuesday, or about a third needed for the Democratic nomination.
