Hillary criticizes Trump, Cruz for their anti-Muslim rhetoric

“And did you notice that calm and collected tone of voice right there”, Nauert said, about the brief segment of Clinton’s speech they aired.

Trump said in an interview for Bloomberg’s “With All Due Respect” program that he would weigh whether the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is still relevant.

Russian President Vladimir Putin “already hopes to divide Europe”, Clinton chided. “If Mr. Trump gets his way, it’ll be like Christmas in the Kremlin”, Clinton continued, specifically citing Trump’s name.

Instead, she presented herself as a “smart, strong, steady” leader ready to work with foreign allies craving American action and Silicon Valley tech firms leery of government intrusion.

“One thing we know that does not work is offensive rhetoric that demonizes all Muslims”, she said. In her address, Clinton urged listeners to stand in solidarity with Europe in order to defeat the Islamic State group, according to her campaign.

“Proposing that doesn’t make you sound tough”, she said.

“Slogans aren’t a strategy. That makes it sound like you are in over your head”.

These kinds of lines have popped up with increasing frequency in Clinton’s speeches as she pivots toward a general election.

But it was the attacks on Trump and Cruz, direct and indirect, that were at the core of her speech.

“America doesn’t cower in fear or hide behind walls… She’s been in office fighting terror for 20 years- and look where we are!” the tweet said. “No enemy or adversary should ever underestimate the determination of the American people”.
