Hillary lied to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about Colin Powell’s email advice

In another case, Clinton was host at a September 2009 breakfast meeting at the New York Stock Exchange that listed Blackstone Group chairman Stephen Schwarzman as one of the attendees. Powell complained to People magazine that Clinton’s campaign was using him.

On Sunday, Powell went a step further in an interview in People magazine and accused Clinton’s team of trying to “pin” her email problems on him and arguably raised a question of whether Clinton may be not been truthful to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In that memo, Powell discussed using a private account for unclassified correspondence, but he never attempted anything like Clinton’s legally-dubious strategy of routing all personal and official correspondence, including classified documents, through an unsecured personal mail server. Clinton told the Federal Bureau of Investigation in an interview that Powell had advised her to use the personal email account. “He used a secure State computer on his desk to manage classified information”.

Clinton has been desperate for the moral cover of Powell for her email arrangement since the scandal broke past year. “I asked and she said she doesn’t want to commit to anything…”

Muhammad Yunus, a Bangladeshi economist who won the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for pioneering low-interest “microcredit” for poor business owners, met with Clinton three times and talked with her by phone during a period when Bangladeshi government authorities investigated his oversight of a nonprofit bank and ultimately pressured him to resign from the bank’s board. However, he wanted to mention that her behavior was “extremely careless”.

Himes, a Hillary Clinton supporter, was a guest on “New Day” on CNN, and though he offered a vigorous defense of the foundation and its charitable work, he conceded that there were problems of perception related to the overlap between the organization and the State Department under Clinton. The State Department had planned to begin releasing the emails on October 22. Instead of an October surprise, there might be a September surprise.

Hillary had already set up a private email server before that dinner party among former Secretaries of State.

The MAC AIDS fund donated between $5 million and $10 million to the Clinton Foundation and several million more in commitments to programs through the Clinton Global Initiative.

The Abedin emails reveal that the longtime Clinton aide apparently served as a conduit between Clinton Foundation donors and Hillary Clinton while Clinton served as secretary of state. But her acts of contrition come off as genuine as a Johnny Manziel mea culpa. Our assessment is that, like many email users, Secretary Clinton periodically deleted emails or emails were purged from the system when devices were changed.
