Hillary poised for nomination as Bill seeks Democrats’ unity
As Hillary Clinton prepares to receive the Democratic presidential party nomination Tuesday, her campaign said it’s been ramping up efforts to win over millennial voters, including Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who tend to favor Sen.

“We’re unified, ladies and gentlemen”, she told the adoring crowd. Royce West of Dallas, a longtime Clinton supporter.
Dee Martin, who sits on the board of the The Feminist Majority Foundation, a Texas-based nonprofit, said she doesn’t think the party’s divide will be a problem in the general election. “This was truly to reflect the energy that has come from Bernie delegates and the people who have worked so hard over this course of time to have a ticket that reflected the best of what we put forward during this primary campaign”.
The two are drastically different in policies and their campaign styles, Sanders said. The roster so far includes a 9/11 survivor, a former Clinton intern who grew up in foster care, students from a school for at-risk youth Clinton helped create and more.
But slowly, steadily, the speakers seemed to chip away at the outrage, a slog that culminated with Sanders declaring the battles he won to shape the party’s platform before giving a full-throated endorsement of Clinton at the end of the night. For all the talk of Bernie’s revolution, the main story of this convention will be Obama handing back control of the party to the Clintons and the dawn of what one day may be known as the Obama-Clinton era. Carter, a Dallas resident, said he doesn’t fear a Donald Trump presidency: “I’ve lived under nine white presidents in my lifetime”.
Although the outcome is a foregone conclusion, the vote could be an occasion for rowdy displays on the convention floor by diehard Bernie Sanders frustrated with their candidate’s loss to Clinton in the party’s primaries.
As polls showed Trump ahead of Clinton in the race to the White House, the first lady wowed the Philadelphia crowd as she impeached Trump’s behavior and hailed the inspirational power of possibly having a first female US president. Abigail Field, a Sanders delegate from Patchogue, said she’d cried Monday night.
Speakers at the rally charged that Sanders was cheated out of the nomination by Clinton.
“I want to see a legitimate process and the emails delegitimized the process – so for me that should leave an opening”, said Patel, who said he would not support Trump in November, but Clinton would have to “earn my vote”. “Trump, Trump has made bigotry and hatred the cornerstone of his campaign'”. That’s what Clinton did on Obama’s behalf in 2008 to indicate their rivalry was truly over. In North Carolina on Tuesday, he told a convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars that, “our politicians have totally failed you”. Tim Kaine, Clinton’s new running mate.
It’s official! Hillary Clinton is the first-ever female presidential candidate of a major political party.

Her nomination was a formality, but the convention proceeded with a roll call vote.
