Hingis, Mirza reach Wimbledon doubles final
In doubles, Hingis and Sania Mirza defeated the American pair of Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears 6-1, 6-2. Serena has 20 Grand Slam titles to her name. “It’s super to find myself in the final four in Wimbledon”.

Williams will next face Maria Sharapova on Thursday in the semifinals.
Martina Hingis is back in a final at Wimbledon for the first time since 1998.
Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States and Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic arrived at the All England Club halfway to a true Grand Slam, having won the Australian Open and French Open in 2015.
Federer, runner-up to Djokovic past year, needed only 95 minutes to dispatch Simon.
“I played well in both of them and had chances in the Wimbledon Final for sure”.
They all grew up watching the Williams sisters who – as their match on Centre Court showed – are still setting the standard.
Roger Federer will play Novak Djokovic for a record eighth Wimbledon title.
Victoria Azarenka has hit out at sections of the Centre Court crowd for laughing at her and Serena Williams grunting in the heat of a classic Wimbledon quarter-final.
The most compelling match is today’s second men’s semifinal, scheduled for 8 a.m., between No. 2 Roger Federer and No. 3 Andy Murray.
Muguruza lost the first set and still trails 5-4 in the second but is serving to even the second set.
He completely took the match off of Murray’s racket, the same way he used to do to every player that came into his path during his years of regularly winning three Slams per year.
They described Serena as the “more physically powerful, with a ferocious temper” and Maria as “media-friendly combination of blonde Siberian beauty and sponsor-friendly image control”. The last player to win all four major titles in the same year was Steffi Graf in 1988.
The Semi-finals of the Gentlemen’s singles take place tomorrow, Friday July 10 with the big match between Andy Murray and Roger Federer. Roger Federer and Andy Murray will meet in the second match on the same court.
Sharapova won her first major title at Wimbledon in 2004.
Murray beat Canada’s Vasek Pospisil 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 to reach his sixth Wimbledon semifinal.
Vandeweghe advanced despite what she called “one of my worst matches that I played the whole tournament so far”, and knows she needs to play a lot better against Sharapova.
Vandeweghe had never been past the third round of a Grand Slam before Wimbledon, while Keys made the semifinals of this year’s Australian Open before losing to Williams.
Muguruza, still only 21, will next face either Agnieszka Radwanska or Madison Keys in the semifinals on Thursday. At the second Wimbledon in 1878, however, Gore lost his title when his net-heavy game fell prey to a innovative stroke developed by challenger Frank Hadow: the lob. They said the majority of tickets were available via the public ballot, the LTA ballot and the queue, alongside the 2,500 Centre Court and 1,000 court one tickets allocated to debenture holders.
The top-seeded Serb won the deciding fifth set against Kevin Anderson on Tuesday and earned a spot in the Wimbledon quarterfinals. Federer’s 116-hold streak in service games, dating to his previous tournament, ended, but that was merely a blip during a 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 victory over No. 12 Gilles Simon of France. After Mirza held to 5-5, the match was briefly suspended because of darkness so the roof could be closed. Becker works with Djokovic, and Ivanisevic works with the defending champion’s opponent, No. 9 Marin Cilic.
The royal box, by contrast, was packed throughout, with guests including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Albert of Monaco, Paula Radcliffe and Sir Matthew Pinsent arriving on court shortly before play began.

The last match will feature another ex- victor at the All England Club, 1997 singles champion Martina Hingis.
