Hitman delayed to March 2016
The next installment of the Hitman franchise won’t be launching this year as expected.

While that formula probably won’t change as more content is said to be included, the new release date is now scheduled for March 2016. Perhaps sensing that 2015 wasn’t going well for the bald assassin, developer IO Interactive has revealed that Hitman is being pushed back into 2016.
The new Hitman was initially penciled in to debut in digital form on December 8, with plans of offering PlayStation-exclusive content such as a PS4 beta and six bonus contracts. “Not just in terms of scope and ambition but also in terms of the size of the game world itself”. The studio will be releasing “a good chunk” of Hitman when it launches in March 2016, and then will release remaining locations over a certain time period.
Citing fan wariness of a barebones launch title, Square Enix has stated that the delay will allow them to add additional launch content to the game, as well as following up with a tight post-release schedule of updates.
With the new ‘Hitman,’ the game has been positioned in an interesting and odd way. The creators of the game at Io-Interactive suggest that this game is the “biggest venture [they’ve] ever undertaken” and that the playable area and density of the game is beyond any game they’ve created before.

“We’re striving to create a series of living, breathing worlds in those locations and we get pretty obsessed about every detail that you’ll experience”, IO Interactive said.
