The premier said Pakistan would remind the United Nations of its long-held promise of self-determination to the Kashmiri people and would make it clear to India that it had approached the United Nations several de cades ago over the dispute but was still not fulfilling its promise of holding a plebiscite.

The News World India earlier this month, in yet another bid to highlight the Kashmir issue, the Pakistan Prime Minister vowed to provide medical help to those injured in violence there and called on the global community to ask India to provide access for treatment of victims.

Sharif’s announcement comes days after a snub from India, which flatly refused an “invitation” from Islamabad to hold talks on Kashmir. It only used all such occasions to deflect attention of the worldwide community from the dispute and aspirations of the Kashmiri people who have made known that nothing short of liberation from Indian slavery is acceptable to them. “That’s why Pakistan always hesitates from facing the truth”, he added.

Then, Pakistan’s Permanent Resident to the UN Maleeha Lodi had called Wani’s elimination as “extra-judicial” and described him as a “Kashmiri leader”.

The parliamentarians nominated as special envoys to highlight Indian brutalities and lobby for the Kashmir cause in capitals across the world include Ijazul Haq and Malik Uzair for Belgium, Khusro Bakhtiar and Alamdad Laleka for China, Raza Hayat Hiraj, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry and Nawab Ali Wassan for the Russian Federation.

Slamming India for blaming Pakistan for Kashmir uprising, he said people of the Jammu and Kashmir have been waging an indigenous political struggle for their right to self-determination and Pakistan and any other country has no role in it. He also said all political parties spoke in one voice on Kashmir, sending out a strong message to the world as well as the separatists. Next month, either the Prime Minister or the Finance Minister is going to the UN.
