Hogs, No. 15 Frogs 1st game since SWC quarter-century ago
Two of the four sacks that Hogs gave up to Louisiana Tech, Arkansas offensive coordinator Dan Enos attributed to failed assignments by the backs.

Seeing 59 points on the scoreboard in the opener continued a recent TCU trend of racking up the touchdowns. The Horned Frogs gave up points on what seemed like every possession to the Jackrabbits, who eventually finished with 41. “Going forward, I feel pretty confident”.
But on the very next play, TCU wide receiver Deanté Gray took off for 19 yard run, but fumbled on the Arkansas seven-yard line. The team struggled to stop both the run and the pass as they found themselves in a hole early trailing by 17 points.
After defeating the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 21-20, the Razorback football team will hit the road this weekend to take on the No. 13 Texas Christian University Horned Frogs in Forth Worth, Texas on Saturday. The squad that’s able to set the pace for the majority of the game will, no doubt, have a greater opportunity to win. “We acted like we were surprised”, he said. Sprinkle’s touchdown reception was his third catch of the day. Hill is no mystery to Arkansas, as he started for Texas A&M against the Razorbacks in 2014 and threw for 386 yards and four scores in a 35-28 victory for the Aggies. The Hogs had a net team total of 106 rushing yards with the sacks accounting for 26 yards in lost yardage.
“He’s just a tremendous coach and a real good guy in the business that has built that place up into something special”, Bielema said of Patterson. He registered 11 total tackles and was a menace in the backfield stuffing the run in a defense that came alive in the second half.
Most of the current players are too young to know – “I wasn’t”. Patterson took the blame for the woes on defense. “I think we know a lot more than people probably know that were in blowouts or one-sided losses. As we get a lot of times, we got a different game plan than what we worked on”, Patterson said. “We didn’t tackle very well, and schematically we didn’t do a very good job of lining up”. Overcoming a couple of interceptions against South Dakota State is one thing, but Hill can’t afford to toss multiple picks against the Razorbacks. Lou Holtz, Broyles” immediate successor, continued the mastery over TCU from 1977 through “80 until stunned by TCU in 1981 at Fort Worth for which his Hogs more than atoned two games later stunning Texas in Fayetteville.
Texas A&M-transfer quarterback Kenny Hill fills in for TCU great Trevone Boykin who graduated previous year after a successful career.
Arkansas senior receiver Keon Hatcher was superb catching key passes on all three Arkansas touchdown drives. “He’s been a professional about it ever since he’s been here, he’s been a great student, he’s done everything right”, Patterson said. “We understand Arkansas is a lot more talented as a defense, a lot more athletic, a lot more physical one than the one we just played. We’re going to have to get better doing the things that we need to do”.
Hill did throw two interceptions, but quickly moved on from his miscues. Plus, big returns have a way of igniting the frenzy of a sellout crowd of 48,000 in lovely, rebuilt Amon Carter Stadium, which has been constructed more vertically than, say, War Memorial Stadium, and at times recently has seemed as loud as some SEC stadiums with twice the turnout.
Patterson agrees that the work looks to pay off for the junior.
