Holcomb Picked for Indiana Republican Governor Bid
We can’t objectively say Holcomb was the “best” of the three, but he was the one whose selection best keeps faith with Republicans who voted Pence and likely would have again.

As former state GOP chairman, he had close ties with a lot of the party insiders voting in the caucus.
“We’ll play it as it comes to my desk, should I be honored with being the next governor”, Holcomb said.
Pence said he wants to “keep having the kind of conversation that Donald Trump has been having with the American people since the outset of this election” when he speaks with voters Thursday at the DeltaPlex in Walker.
Holcomb and his wife, Janet, live on the northwest side of Indianapolis. He has never won an election.
Holcomb, 48, is the former head of Indiana’s Republican Party. While there may be a new name on the ballot, the issues remain the same.
The combustible, free-wheeling Trump needed the staid, staunchly conservative Pence, the governor of IN, to give him some credibility with establishment Republicans and a boost IN the Midwest. Their remarks have again thrust IN on a national stage over last year’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
It caused a huge stir across the country.
House Democratic Leader Scott Pelath said those comments confirm a concern of the IN delegation – that Pence’s selection would “dredge these past embarrassments up before the rest of the country”.
“Each of them (caucus candidates) has something to their advantage and each has some negatives attached to them”.
“You think Mike Pence would say this?” he smiled to the audience in Roanoke, Virginia. At least part of the Democrats’ argument is going to be that the Republican Party is at best indifferent and at worst hostile to women and their interests. I’m thankful to the community and grassroots leaders who endorsed my campaign in the past several days and look forward to working with them – and everyone – as this campaign officially now kicks into high gear. And since he was an aide to Gov. Mitch Daniels, he also knows well the history of Republican policy initiatives.
“We. can not allow our state to slip, drift go backward to those days of debt and delayed payments”, Holcomb said.
The 22 members of the Indiana Republican State Committee scheduled a private meeting Tuesday morning in Indianapolis to choose among Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb, U.S. Reps. Please see our terms of service for more information. “I declared for governor, and I’ve stayed running for that position”. I love him. Where is he? “I know what strong Republican leadership can be”.

Much of Zody’s message while at the Democratic National Convention this week deals with economic issues, including the fallout over the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 2015, which critics said would allow businesses to discriminate against LGBT people and led to a quick legislative change in response to threatened boycotts and criticism.
