Holly Holm stuns Ronda Rousey with second-round knockout
Rousey claimed a bronze medal in judo at the 2008 Beijing Olympics before fighting her way to the top of the UFC and Dolce said she would draw on that experience ahead of a probable re-match against Holm.

No one expected Holly Holm to dominate our girl Ronda Rousey at Saturday’s UFC 193.
Following the second round defeat for Rousey, Tate, angling for a title fight with the new champion Holm, wasn’t holding back.
Holm’s pre-fight visualizations proved valuable, as she saw a variety of situations play out in her head ahead of time, allowing her to formulate the proper counters and retaliations. This meant that Rousey couldn’t afford to fight her standing up, but Holm also demonstrated great takedown defense in getting out of one of Rousey’s patented armbars just two minutes into the first round. “She had me on the cage for a minute and obviously she was trying in for a take down right there ” she had a lot of things she was trying so I’m just glad I put in the practice”, she added.
“I got in the cage with so much love and support, so how could I have not done this with all of that?”
“She was transported [to hospital] because she got knocked out”, said UFC chief Dana White. It remains to be seen whether the competitors will battle again, but Holm said immediately following the fight that Rousey deserves a rematch.
Round 1: With her super aggressive boxing ability, Holly Holm kept delivering blows with her left hand and still managed to stay out of Ronda Rousey’s reach.
A rematch is sure to come and like this fight will break records. Former UFC champion Anderson Silva – who knows all too well what it’s like to be viewed as invincible – posted a few words of wisdom for Rousey.
While organizers had yet to release crowd numbers, Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium was transformed from a 56,000-seat Australian rules football venue to an auditorium holding close to 75,000 seats for the event. Rousey, 28, has taken UFC by storm since her debut in 2012 and her success has led to several movie projects as well the publishing of her autobiography.

Holm remained calm and confident, punching Rousy nearly at will throughout the short bout.
