However that was before any explanation was giving as to why she was abruptly axed.

“Stephanie’s contract was terminated following warnings for lateness, attendance and after a final incident in which she turned up to set unfit to work because of alcohol consumption”, the statement said.

The reason(s) behind bosses terminating her contract have not been revealed, nor have any details surrounding how she’ll be written out. “I’ve been in the show since I was 16 and I am 22 now”.

It was only in April that Stephanie was excitedly gushing about her new one-year contract with Hollyoaks.

Davis rose to fame on the BBC talent contest Over the Rainbow, where hopefuls competed to get the role of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.

Over the five years that Davis has starred in the show, her character Sinead has been in the thick of some of the show’s most gripping drama.
