Hollywood preps for ‘Star Wars’ premiere
For a lucky few that means a chance to join the Republican Senate hopeful for a preview of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in Miami. Star Wars has attracted generations of loyal fans ever since the first film arrived in 1977, introducing the world to The Force, Jedi knights, Darth Vader, Wookiees and two clever droids, R2-D2 and C3PO. There is also no escaping The Force in grocery stores, cosmetic shops, restaurants, ice cream stands – and just about anywhere else.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is igniting a new fire in fans eagerly awaiting the film’s release on December 18 – even as the film’s plot and details about characters and costumes have been shrouded in unprecedented secrecy.
J.J. Abrams’ space sci-fi film “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” is coming to theaters in few days and in line with this, some fans are getting ready for the film in their own ways. After intense negotiations between The Walt Disney Co. and Lucasfilm, and certainly much courting of George Lucas, the creator of what can only be called the worldwide “Star Wars” industry, Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012 for a cool $4.1 billion.
“We just want to show our appreciation and the love that we have for Star Wars”, he said, sitting near fellow fans outside the theatre after taking a nap under blankets on the pavement.
The star-studded event is expected to be one of the largest – and most secretive – Hollywood premieres ever. “Finally, we will be able to exhale”, the 40-something said. Record ticket salesThose without advance tickets for opening night in the United States may be out of luck, with many theaters already sold out. Comic Book Movie spotted them in the pages of a Force Awakens Visual Dictionary.
“It’s not ever something I pictured so it’s a very odd thing, very odd”, Ridley told Reuters in an interview.
“Man, I can’t say anything”, Driver said.
Democratic congressman and self-proclaimed “Jedi Master” Alan Grayson also appealed to followers – those who are also Star Wars aficionados – in a November blog post to “help … beat the GOP’s Sith-like hold on Washington, DC, by giving $3 or more, to save our Republic”.
